The openweb will go the way of usenet. Bots talking to bots, fetching information for a higher tool.

How do you expect to have a trade balance with a country that is 10% of your population.

With each other maybe? In practice they are very aligned.

I've always said that the only way Trump would "Make America Great" would be to show the world how completely hollowed out by kleptocrats we've become.

These moves increase other countries independence of us, lessening our power and forcing us into a more post America world.

If Trump isn't a double agent then he missed his calling. It feels like every decision they are making is intentionally the "wrong" one.

Show HN: Sticky Icky – a ditherpunk sticker designer for the Zebra LP2844

sigspec — Wed, 20 May 2026 13:59:32 +0000

Browser-based sticker designer for a Zebra LP2844 thermal label printer. I bought an $40 UPS branded LP2844 to print stickers and ended up building this after I couldn't find existing tools that did what I wanted.

GW raster appears to be broken over USB on firmware V4.29, so it prints over serial from a FastAPI backend. More notes on what I ran into are in the README. Image pipeline does XOR compositing, EPX upscale, Otsu/manual threshold, and five dithering algorithms (Bayer 4x4/8x8, Floyd-Steinberg, Atkinson, Riemersma).

Part of this was just an experiment to see if I could use Claude to diagnose the print issues I was running into. Some of the conclusions in the project may be entirely wrong, or entirely specific to my setup. I've arrived at a workflow that works for me but may be based on wrong assumptions. Would love for someone else with an LP2844 to test it out.

This is rad. Any info on running it on a small box for the living room? It would be perfect for my parents.

I can't remember either but they nailed it. When the sax comes in and the voice overlay hit's you with "Your extended forecast"; I'm right back in the kitchen before school eating cereal with the kitchen TV on the weather channel.

Edit: another comment mentioned it was generated with Suno

I love how it's built. How they did the blurring and filter stacking. I assumed the whole thing was being streamed in as video.

Good job Weather Channel dev. I just wish it would loop forever. Make a loop checkbox at the start screen.

Also the music slaps.

You can be emphatic all you want but I refuse to believe that pharma has no say in pricing. Ludicrous.

You can get human insulin from Walmart for 25 a vial without a prescription.

Insulin analogs are most prescribed and subject to pricing issues. Particularly important to those with insulin resistance.
