I thought it was well-known that unmodified C-130s (Look ma, no hook!) can land and take off from US-sized carriers successfully. Ergo, in a pinch, everyone will be getting their chicken nuggets and canned corn.

The common pirated version of Quake was a 20MB pre-release leak that had oodles and oodles of minor differences to the final version. All of the actual levels themselves are playable and completable. The funniest differences are a mean trap that was removed from the final E1M1, and E2M6 still begins with the eponymous oubliette, banished from official releases until 2021 (!).

Mountain Lion dropped support for 32 bit kernel. I only know this because Apple didn’t provide a patch for first generation Mac Pro users, even though the CPUs were 64 bit and could run Mountain Lion just fine.

Your body isn't a piece of software.

It can get easily get stuck in conditions that we aren't used to happening in computers. Eg, some injury causes inflammation and pain in a different part of your body, and even after the initial injury heals itself, the inflammation and pain in another part of your body continues of its own accord, and a "quick fix" of some NSAIDs can cure it within hours.

I'm glad you are feeling better, but reading all that great stuff about magnesium could have primed you to think that supplementing it would work, therefore it worked. The placebo (and nocebo) effects are very powerful.

It's from a culture that says more alarms = safer. Perhaps the people who design these things need an alarm to warn them of "alarm fatigue".

The computer player would always target your nothern-most structure for airstrikes or nuclear weapons. This persisted to at least Generals Zero Hour (I never played the campaign of C&C3 or 4 so can't comment on them).

*I've never seen or heard of someone getting a ticket for merely inconsiderate driving, but it's there in the traffic law

It has a ton of cryptic options, but at least it lets you mess around with them and maybe get something usable, where other apps would just give up and shake their head.

From a photographer's perspective, using cel scans as a reference could be a fool's errand because they are biased by the white color of the scanner light and scanning software. There's a lot of room for opinionated scans there.

OTOH, the result looks great, so good on the passionate fans who spent their time and effort doing this.
