Can the police take pictures of every car they see and use that to determine your travel history? If the police don't have the expertise to maintain such a network can they pay a third party to do so?

Like everything else, the packaging and ergonomics matter. Do we need podman or docker when we could just don our sysadmin hats and manage namespaces and cgroups directly instead?

How do manufacturers of physical products handle defects? Aren't they obligated to correct defects through recalls and similar mechanisms? I don't see why software wouldn't work similarly.

I don't think even these are bastions. We trust machines to monitor our health (even in hospitals you are connected), our children (ever use a baby monitor), and our money through index funds. The path is incremental but we have started down it.

Have you built anything around it? I was thinking it might be useful to potentially script based on space and tab name (like create dir named tab in space) and other little QOL workflow tweaks but haven't looked into it really.

What is tolerated is consented to in a sense. The alternative is rejection of the contract terms but you have to be willing to bet your life on it.
