Once it's gone it's gone. That's part of what I like about analogue modular synthesizers. It's a liberating approach to doing music if you embrace it for what it is.

it is something to worry about if you care about playing the original. I'm only interested in straight ports with minimal QOL features like 60fps(or unlocked if viable), higher resolution and controller rebinding.

I haven't played a single remaster that I preferred to the original game. I'm fine with remasters existing, but only if faithful ports are made available as well.

There are other reasons for that. Application is cheap and relatively fast(~3 months in my case).

all I've seen from AI assisted art is endless variation of what's already out there. form remains the same. maybe it's just me but isn't it weird how technologies that supposedly are democratizing seldom seem to be emancipatory? i fear AI will only make culture and art more standardized, more of an industry.

But I think AI can be a revolution in the sense that it will lead people to think hard about what kind of art AI can't do, and that will hopefully get us back to doing, you know, actual art.

The trick is that people really do hear differences when first listening to a new piece of audiophile gear, it's just that the difference doesn't come from the new hardware but from the very act of listening carefully to hear differences . This is a skill that can be improved with practice, it's called critical listening. When audiophiles do it by accident(or because they are told to listen for "details") they basically delude themselves into thinking the hardware really is different. Once the effect wears off and they start listening passively like normal, they go looking for the next thing to improve.
