It is similar, at least. Here is another one showing South Korea that is taken using a regular camera from the ISS that shows similar light patterns (https://plus.google.com/117789022459699674254/posts). It's hard to see North Korea because of the angle and the clouds.

I think that this image (http://i.i.com.com/cnwk.1d/i/tim/2011/12/19/northkoreamap_62...) of Korea is the most striking representation of image equality. It is visible from space with the naked eye.

There can still be issues even with that. I watched an international youth tournament (CONCACAF u20 championships, I think) where the US and Canada? could each guarantee advancement with a tie, but could be eliminated if they lost. The first half had both teams trying a bit, but not being willing to push enough men forward to have a real chance. The second half was a joke, with the US midfield and defense kicking the ball around their own half for 20+ minutes at the end of the game, while the opponent stayed in their own half.

Before reading the postscript I thought it was an interesting, if not revolutionary, critique of ad services. Then I read the last line and realized the whole "article" was yet another ad for app.net. I felt like I had been tricked into reading a sales pitch, which irritates me and makes me less likely to join your project.

The court oversight of Microsoft stemming from the antitrust lawsuit ended in May 2011. I don't think it is a coincidence that Microsoft's initial publicity about the new Metro stuff cam in June 2011.
