I like Luhmann’s theory better. What i like about it is that Luhmann argues that the smallest denominator of a social system is a realation between two. Habermas says it can be brought down to an individual. Which in my mind defeats the “social” part.

I have SentinelOne as part of my install. Since that got upgraded, my Mac started eating its battery during sleep. Possibly due to SentinelOne's network scanner, as that takes up 100% cpu for awhile when just returning from sleep. So my mac awakes 3 times an hour to connect to iCloud and then adding SentinelOne overhead...
I think I might try this setting (Prevent Wake for Maintenance)

You mean someone convicted of fraud using the money from that fraude to bolster her popularity was banned by a judge to compete in the elections.
Also in the case of the Romanian candidate he was helped by Russian agencies. Again convicted by a judge.
In both countries judges are not appointed politically. So what makes this that the left bans the right?

I've heard people on the radio (ha yes I listen to that ;-)) that they disagree with Le Pen being banned from running for president.
That seems strange to me as this was public (eu) money that was funneled into her own movement, i.e. bolstering her popularity in some way. So letting her run in the elections would basically mean she would get away with the fraude.

I'm in management, senior to executive level with a preference towards data / ai. I'm also a contributor and committer to some Apache projects and maintain a popular one myself. I've got a background in financial services.
I was laid off last year during the major tech layoffs and I had a few interim management jobs since. Nothing permanent yet though and I see myself as a missionary not a mercenary so 'just' contracting doesn't fulfill me.
What I've noticed that where there used to be just a few applicants there are now many. This is confirmed by other job seekers. Jobs posted are also sometimes fake. Just window dressing so to say. I've gotten offers from within my own domain of less than half I was earning. For a NGOs I could consider that but for high tech or finance that's stuff I cannot take seriously.
I noticed I need to work on my positioning and network harder. I did not have to apply for a job in 15 years so I am a but rusty in that respect.
What I think is happing in the industry is that the macro economic developments are still quite uncertain and companies haven't figured out their strategies yet. So they stick to what they know.

I'm a hiring manager in the Netherlands. I would be happy that you ran away, because you would not have passed the bar.
The hiring process I like to have in place is:
1. HR Interview: see if there is a fit with the company
2. Skill check. Do you have the problem solving, hard skills and communication skills needed for the job.
3. Team fit. Do you like to drink a beer (or non alcoholic) with us and we with you. Can you hold a conversation about something else than work.
6 people are involved. 2 per step. Everyone has a veto. I as a manager do not have special power. I've had people fail most of the time on #3. E.g. a guy that did not talk the woman of the team. She veto-ed. We were really looking for his skills, but he was a jerk.
I don't think you would have passed #3 either. You can have l33t coding skills, but if you cannot make it work in a team it is basically useless for anything of size.

Good question. It depends on how that would work. Meaning can I offset against the whole year and just get less money back per kWh or will it become seasonal or day pricing. Day pricing would be the most impactful as during summer time prices are cheaper and I deliver back the most.
If I assume that 2/3 of my usage will be in Winter and I can offset just 200kWh (there is always a bit of sun) then it look like this:
1390.5 * 2/3 = 927 kWh
927kWh - 200 = 727 kWh
727 kWh * 0.40 = 290.80 / year (0.40 is price per kWh)
So I would spend 290 per year so about 25e. Which is 75% less then I do now.
This excludes any other cost / benefit.

Where do you get your numbers from? Right now, pre heat pump, I'm at 2000kWh usage and return to the net 4000kWh (so 2000kWh in excess). I use 750m3 of gas.
This costs me 100e per month.
I'm investing in a full electric ground source heat pump. Which cost me 20k. An alternative is a air heatpump which is around 8k, but with a lower scop.
Let's assume a scop of 5 (air-air) which is conservative. The amount of energy required for heating / showering / cooking was 750 * 9.27 = 6952.5 kWh. Dividing this by the scop of 5 means I require 1390.5 kWh to replace gas. This means I still have excess of solar kWh.
For now I can use the grid as a battery. This means I have no electricity costs - I actually get 20e per month after taxes.
So for 8k I have nullified my gas and electric bill. This means a payback period of 5.5 years (8000/120/12) or a yield of 18% (120/8000 * 100*12) per year.
So it isn't required to have tens of thousands to invest and you get a positive yield (depending the tax climate) even with current gas prices.
The 20k ground source heat pump looks a bit different. But I like that it is quiet and it can cool in summer for less energy that an air-air one.*

Financial data deals with cutoff times and those happen in a timezone. Thus particularly in finance timezones are important. You are right though that internally everything should be UTC internally and only when required it gets transposed to the timezone. However many legacy financial systems assume a local time zone and not UTC and they do not expose that information in their data. Happy reconciliation :-).
