True but the list of reasons that allow you to fire someone without paying unemployment is limited.
They're trying to avoid paying out unemployment by saying he failed to show up for a shift but even sans-COVID firing after one absence is abnormal.

If anything those are good reasons to pursue increasing T levels without those side effects. This may be possible if the cause is environmental. The speed with which testosterone levels have been dropping in men seems to indicate it is not natural selection.
There are plenty of people who would trade feeling better for a longer shitty life.

I can't answer for him, but typically it is 100mg/wk for testosterone replacement. This can be taken once a week. For body building administration is usually done twice weekly. There is a newer cream that is applied to the scrotum, otherwise it is usually injection.
If you are doing TRT testicular atrophy usually isn't a concern although it could be a cosmetic concern. Taking human chorionic gonadotropin will preserve testicular function but may not return the look of your saggy nads.

SSRIs are typically described by psychiatrists to their patients as making them more likely to act. They do this by disrupting the decision making process so you can't talk yourself out of an action due to anxiety, etc.
In some cases this can lead to manic like symptoms associated with dopamine release, like obsessive gambling, extreme promiscuity, and overall poor decision making. You can check the side effects list of your medication, though some are more prone to this than others.

A relative of mine is on a very strong SSRI and stimulant combination; talking to them is almost impossible, they're constantly interjecting and changing the subject. They're a coked up toddler with a particularly large vocabulary.
A lot of SSRIs have the expected mechanism of action of disrupting your executive function. This is usually explained as making you more likely to act. The other is disrupting the linking and creation of long term memories, especially negative ones. You can find research evaluating SSRIs and antidepressents looking for these things. Maybe it's not bad, but long term memory and good executive function are the main components of IQ.
In the above case the stimulants were originally prescribed I think to counteract a loss of focus, they might be worse off without them.
Personally I lost a year and a half to Lexapro. It made me happy (or made me think I was) but completely removed any motivation I had to do anything. In my observations this is typical, and a concern I expressed to the doctors involved. People I've known turned into shells of themselves who never left the house.

Richard P. Bentall makes convincing argument that happiness is a psychiatric disorder.† Notably Caesar was said to prefer the company of fat men, with the implied causation that happy -> fat. One also sees this in the weight gain usually caused by SSRIs. At the same time obesity has well measured effects on many metabolic processes, so it is likely there is some effect on the brain.
† [PDF] https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1376114/pdf/jme...

Corruption is a moral issue that exists besides the law. If the payment occurring produces no net benefit then I see no reason to consider it just.
These problems seem complex and may truly be, but if they lead to payment for nonperformance then that needs to be addressed. I expect the market can figure it out from there.

Ostensibly they should belong to the estate of the deceased. As it is now, in the US (as I understand it) organs and body tissue is in this weird limbo of not being considered property. The original case law around this seems to exist to: 1) make it hard to go after doctors who do things you don't like with your discarded tissue (either destroying it, or giving it to the state for evidence), and 2) prevent trafficking in humans and their organs.
The second part seems to mean that only certain types of nonprofits can accept organs. From there they may or may not be able to profit off of the sale of the organ but instead the services to transport and maintain it. Then at a certain point, you've turned penises into lip filler, and then you can sell the lip filler (at a huge profit).

Seems like laws need to be drawn up to make this unprofitable. It should be easy enough to get out of paying people standing around not behaving in a "competent and workmanlike manner." Or even the entire company. If it doesn't happen, why pay?
As you've described, what is going on is corruption due to lack of oversight.

What would convince you? It should be pretty clear at this juncture I don't have evidence. However I did give a reason; if in general depressed people feel they are not contributing or participating in society then that is pretty clear.
You can look into this further: a lack of physical activity tends to worsen depression, and a hunter-gatherer with reduced mobility and/or other issues that make it hard to interact with the group is most certainly a resource drain. It goes on and on.
Evolution isn't directed but structures and instinct that are truly against the organisms interest are the exception, not the norm.

For a while, yes, but then they get over it. If the person would continue to be nonproductive (or in the situation being discussed -- feel they are being nonproductive) for years then there is a clear benefit to their death.
Does suicide have place in a modern society? Probably not, but at the same time the fact people continue to kill themselves show that people really don't care about the issue. Actions speak louder than words.

I think you are going in the right direction. Society needs to recognize that suicide must be some evolutionarily advantageous adaptation. Many people when pressed will say they think an individual has value, but that individual often sees no actions come from that sentiment. And if someone thinks they provide no value and are not wanted, it seems logical to unburden everyone else.
It would be similar to how cats go off alone to die when they are sick.
