<p>I can't be the only one with a pet peeve about these project names. I feel they're one of many barriers to people picking up Linux. Compare "Just open it in Okular" Vs "Just open it in Document Reader" or "just open it in KDE PDF Viewer". The latter two are obvious choices, the former is not.</p>

<p>The opposite is why I'd never be a good web developer. I grew up messing around with PHP and if I spent the time to learn the modern stack, I'd constantly be thinking it's stupid.</p>

<p>Apple used to produce high-perceived-quality products. This was their only selling point over Android, and Android's openness was its only selling point over Apple. Now somehow everything is collapsing into one uniform sea of extractive-value slop.</p>
