Far worse from my perspective is that it's not a fixed citation that it's not falsifiable. It's just a mutable, generalized source, which is stochastic in nature.

It may as well say "(Socrates, probably)"

Just an aside on the design rather than the content:

I was wondering for a while about the greenish and yellow bars on the margins of the page, but I'm pretty sure that those are padding to make the document work well on both US letter paper and A4 at the same time! The text area is A4 proportions, so if it were printed, zoomed to size on that paper, the sidebars would simply disappear.

No doubt this is a common technique that I'm just noticing for the first time.

This is so similar to human decision-making though. First I my innate experience to approximate to what I expect is right, then I map that to the truth.

It's the same for so many things:

- reading documentation (what do I expect this function to be called?)

- finding clothes in a shop (something long-sleeved and light)

- picking the fridge for dinner

- finding a book in the library...

so many analogues where I'm not coming cold to a choice.

This does not answer the question - it doesn't say "No." or that images are permanently deleted from server on burn expiry, only that there are (currently) limits. So slightly worrying that there might be selective retention.

Is this correct? I was fairly certain that the correlation between random data points approached 0.

Is it also plausible that the relationship between true and percieved is wholly independent (as this presumes)?

There's some interesting commentry at https://www.techtimes.com/articles/322754/20260803/norway-id... , which suggests that the widespread outage is due to a single point of failure:

I think normally when people say Chinese made in this way, what they're really communicating is that there's no (meaningful) brand. All they know about it is that it is from China.

Having subscribeed for years, I find it very good on that front. I haven't detected any political bias, and I suspect they would say that fairness and honesty is what the "journalism" half of "slow journalism" means.

Love it. This reminds me of wttr.in, but with the benefit of interactivity and that it works much better on mobile. I also happen to often use terminals in a narrower aspect, so wttr.in doesn't work perfectly for me. It'd be very cool if a curl call to your site rendered a terminal text view!
