No, I'm complaining that it doesn't ask me to pay before it takes my time to perform a complete scan of my disk (ideally before it even gives me a download of the app).

We both know it does so intentionally, and we also know exactly what the intent is.

Nobody, especially no decision-maker involved with this, has ever spent a single thought anywhere near any concept related to memory.

Sure, the concept of money is only meaningful / valuable to humans.

But isn't there a conceptual difference between the "owners" of the Tomahawk factory vs. the people who are actually putting the missiles together?

There's the cost that the employees pocket, and then there's the share that the shareholders pocket, right? Doesn't "margin" represent the latter?

I'm always confused by prices of "highly regulated" goods in the United States.

When I get a $150,000 bill for a 15-minute hand-reconstruction surgery, how much of that bill is the total margin vs self cost? And how much of that is warranted / acceptable?

When a single Tomahawk missile bills the taxpayer $3,600,000, how much of that bill is the total margin? When I say "total margin", I mean not just the margin of the company that builds the Tomahawk itself, but the margins of all the components that were used in it -- every last bolt and every ounce of aluminum.

I will never understand the decision-making process that led to "Let's build an awesome VR headset that can't do gaming".

I would love to replace my monitor with Apple Vision Pro for programming and productivity. I would gladly pay $1000 for that.

But at $4000 it really needs to put me in a Microsoft Flight Simulator cockpit.
