Throttled motors on ebikes are terribly unsafe, compared to pedal assist central motors.
Feels like an overgeneralization. I have a perfectly slow Ride1Up Roadster V3. It's a PA bike with a throttle, but it's not a hot rod. Max speed with my weight is around 20MPH. I use the throttle to just get moving on inclines or at stops when I forgot to downshift.
That said, there are plenty of idiots around on bikes and cars.
https://ride1up.com/product/roadster-v3/

I come for the comments, not for the news. Signal to noise is lower these days (AI stuff), but I aggressively filter out subjects I have zero interest in.
>simple solution of simply ignoring
If you mean ignoring manually, that's not sustainable.
On the desktop side, I skim through HN through a self-hosted install of NewsBlur RSS, all my RSS feeds live there, including HN, Reddit, etc., that has a nice training/filtering facility [0]. NewsBlur has accompanying apps that can be pointed at your own install. If you don't want to bother with that, you can pay for it. I run it on cheap OVH instance.
On mobile, I use the Hack app [1]. The iOS version works on the Mac as well.
[0] https://www.newsblur.com

They do add some value, but not those inside the terminal, except the nice people behind the check in counter and the curb luggage assistants (captains?) that will take your luggage, give you the boarding pass, and off you go? Golden. It seems they do well on tips. It's worth every $10-20 bucks or whatever it is now.
It is when you get to the security is where you meet the UpsideDown.
The users are the problem. It's not the same as gun control, but smells a bit similar. Let's revisit this when Apple ships? I wonder what the sentiment will be then.
In the meantime, I use the Metas on dog walks, take fast pics of wild life, while biking, things like that, AirPods annoy me even if I own a few pairs. I don't even like the Metas, they are too heavy on the face, they are far from attractive, but they are the only thing of its kind I can buy in the states with my vision insurance (hello, Luxotica and LensCrafters). So please, don't come at me when you see me outside, I'm simply walking my dog.

I lived there (Odessa, mostly), till late teens. The QoL highly depended on who you knew, how to steal and how to bribe and barter, on all levels of society. You could live very well, relative to the gen pop, if you possessed these qualities and your parents were members of the party.
I suppose that can be said about everywhere, but it wasn't a desolate rusty bullet ridden hellscape, the cities were beautiful and so were the beaches, at least as captured in my memory.
My family had friends from Poland and Hungary and we always envied them, the green kind. So, I always assumed at that age things were nicer beyond the borders, but they weren't so bad locally either. Of course, in the end, it was a house of cards, but the life itself wasn't NK level.

Hi Matteo. I can't quite collect myself on what to say. I'm here to listen and converse with like minded individuals and perhaps make some pen pals. I use Wikipedia for what's displayed on the tin. The foundation is more fictional to me than the Federation of the Star Trek lore. We don't know who invented the bow and the arrow and yet we use them. Cheers.

That's two AI smells. AI likes to say vacuous punchy statements like "the final takeaway" or "here's the rub". Then contrastive parallelism "connections, not CPU". Contrastive parallelism should scarcely exist in technical writing, regardless of whether it's AI generated.
Aren't the LLMs trained on a massive corpus of human written texts? If that stands, then they are doing what they were asked, kind of? I am also not a fan of the fluff words that Claude pollutes the context with, it's a bit much, I could live 30% less but it doesn't want to read its instructions in the .md
If the author wanted, they could ask their "AI" to write the article as a caveman, no? I, simply for fun, slop coded up a skill so that I can ask Claude to reply as Samual L. Jackson, or Kramer, etc.
I also wonder if there is an "AI language barrier", likely not in this particular article, but let's say there was a published article by a researcher whose native language isn't English. What happens with the translation? I realize I am asking naive things :)

if gov were to remove these artificial (B)EV tax benefits then we would really see what would people choose, but gov is completely influecing the market, so people just do what is currently beneficial for their wallet, it is for sure not due to EV being good, do you think people would buy EVs if tax rates were reversed and ICE would cost 40K EUR and BEV would cost 73K EUR?
Pound for pound I prefer an EV for as a daily driver (have a Hyundai Ioniq 5). Instant torque, no maintenance to speak of besides tires and windshield fluid. They are not exciting, there is no delicious noise drama. But in the US, the EVs and hybrids/PHEVs have always been, and now more so, more expensive than their ICE counterparts. Good for Denmark, hopefully that spreads here with the next admin.
One immediate downside of EVs that I often see cited in the states, is that even small accident can result in a total insurance write off of the vehicle, much more often or severe than with ICE cars. Which is kind of strange, because new ICE cars pack as much tech.

I am not judging "Wikimedia Foundation", I am "judging" the product. Why is it insane? (btw, strong word you chose). It looks the same as it did on my Blackberry 20 or so years ago. It has less utility to me now than it did then.
I've pledged my $3/5 a few dozen of times over the years, the banners guilted me into it, have you? I am amused by the idea that the thing grew enough to have enough employees to have a union and dysfunctional enough to have an internal dispute. It should be a national treasure on my tax return, or something I don't need to think about, like oxygen.
insane way to measure an organization
What organization and who cares? There are dozens of you?
