It’s a niche box within its own niche (Linux). Perhaps they’ll do a pivot to eco friendly slippers. I admire their manifesto, but can’t see them surviving. You can get a last year’s decent Thinkpad for $400-600 with parts galore. This thing, you buy it on principle only.

Oh I love ATP and even eventually warmed up to Casey. It’s just that “stick to what you know” (or don’t?) thing. I’m not one of those that hate on Tahoe, it’s a temporary distraction, but Overcast more and more looks like some kind of slapped together non native app. He needs to hire a designer, he can afford it.

One on my favorite podcasters is Mike Hurley (London) from Relay.fm. He is a very eloquent gent, at least compared to me.
He says “whivf” instead of ”with” “teevf” instead of “teeth”, things like that, and some other idiosyncrasies that I can’t exactly remember but it was like adding to or replacing the last letter of the word with an “r”.
Is that a London thing or a person thing?

I am a neophyte regarding pros and cons of each model. I am learning the ropes, writing shell scripts, a tiny Mac app, things like that.
Reading about all the “rage switching”, isn’t it prudent to use a model broker like GH Copilot with your own harness or something like oh-my-pi? The frontier guys one up each other monthly, it’s really tiring. I get that large corps may have contracts in place, but for an in indie?

There could be 4x buyers at $10. I’d be one of the now, the dock is a constant annoyance.
The app looks great, downloading the trial now.
To the app’s author I’d say get as many licensees as you can fast before you’re Sherlocked or somebody vibecodes a clone out of “why not”.
I use many free and paid apps, little QoL types, like BetterDisplay, Coctail, etc and for me the included support is of little value. These apps are not mission critical.
There is also Setapp [0], might give you instant access to user base that favors such apps.
[0] - https://setapp.com/

The Verge was discussed at least 2 times, most recently yesterday, on the Wheel Bearings podcast (which I enjoy for the simple motorhead banter). https://overcast.fm/+AA7tJqdxHkE
Robbie from SAE International, who is of the hosts, and an avid motorcyclist, is impressed with the bike and the promise of SSBs. I only ride bicycles, can’t comment on the bike itself, but thought to share and widen their audience. It was kind of a mini shallow yet “deep dive”. It doesn’t seem to be mentioned on their own site for this episode, but the chapter in Overcast is the last one, linking to https://sustainablecareers.sae.org/article/donut-lab-verge-s...

US dealers and manufacturers have no financial incentive in promoting and selling EVs. They can’t survive on fixing window chips, rotating tires and occasional bodywork alone. It’s a huge industry with long tentacles.
And when they do or did have incentives, they were not passed on to the consumers. My 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 had a $57K sticker. That’s not what I paid for it and cheapish leases are aplenty- but - when the federal $7500 credit expired, they simply dropped the MSRP by that much if not more. BMW and others are pursuing the same strategy in the states. The car was never worth near that much to begin with. They were and are jacking up prices and pocketing the change.
BYD is dumping.
