Better SoC, no spinning fans. Also the screen won't die after 2 years of light mode usage.

The remaining stuff... I'd say Lenovo has caught up for the most part.

I unironically like the trackpad and keyboard on the Neo better than Air/Pro's.

It's not a perfect laptop, but I promise you people who spend $600 on their computer have never seen anything comparable.

Yup, I got Thinkpad X9, the idea being "Air 15 but with Windows". It does the job. I still think Air 15 is better (and cheaper), but the software compatibility and not needing to switch platforms outweighs that.

I think modern rendering techniques need more pixels. 1440p should be considered bare minimum, and 4K the norm. Unfortunately, the prices are what they are.

On the flipside, being a low-spec gamer is better than ever. Indies, oldies, mods... all in great shape.

The overwhelming majority of people would just go buy a new one. The downtime for ordering parts and waiting repairs has a price tag, likely greater than the laptop's price. Maybe that will change with how the prices of everything have been soaring lately.
