I tend to prefer to avoid LitRPGs, they rot the brain and everything becomes a minmax number hacking endeavor.

Try Charles Stross's Accelerando and the Laundry Files series if you need good sci-fi. Foundryside and Empress of Forever are also decent. If you want fantasy, The Name of The Wind and Discworld are classics.

Isn't PornHub Canada's biggest tech company by traffic? They are hardly anonymous.

More like MCP for robotics. IMO they are better off getting the robots to use existing human UIs than trying to get hardware manufacturers to play ball.

Love it, it's a breath of fresh air compared to the usual vibe coded SaaS that's dominating Show HN these days.

Any plans to launch a competitor to the ForeFlight Sentry? The current Sentry is severely overpriced.

A normal non ADS-B iPad GPS flight module is almost 10% the price of the Sentry

I assure you it's most certainly not waterproof in any reasonable sense of the word. The seals and glue on that thing is nowhere up to the standard of modern smartwatches.

New comment by storywatch in "Ask HN: In your experience, what are sound conventions for e-ink UI development?"

storywatch — Mon, 10 Aug 2026 20:56:05 +0000

A lot of times the e-ink display can handle much higher refresh rates but the driver board and software are trash.

See the modos for what a clean sheet eink design would look like.

The biggest issue with Go Router is that they keep changing the damn API. I can't believe the release cadence of a Flutter navbar library is faster than entire JS frontend frameworks like Next.js

It's good for the world but terrible for the practitioners in academia. Imagine you are in your last year of your PhD and then something new comes out and completely invalidates/obsoletes your results. Cough natural language processing PhDs during COVID when GPT-3 came around..
