Thank goodness for asynchronous communication! I would have hated to work back when phones were the primary method of communication. I still get phone anxiety whenever I have to make a call.

With the right kind of music, it's not multitasking. A soothing repetitive beat with no lyrics (lofi or trance for me) is perfect for me to work with, without getting an overwhelming sensation.

I haven't found noise cancelling headphones that don't cause pressure. And with Bose it's like some weird negative something sensation - like disturbingly quiet. I presume it's what those sound proof rooms feel like from what I've heard described.

The part which is easy is still time consuming, so LLMs are helpful. They're just not a silver bullet.

I don't think I'd say rarely. Companies rarely allocate the design resources to produce that, but the companies that do are typically much larger, so the actual number of individual developers that get rich mocks is probably closer to 40-50%.

And they're objectively ugly as fuck. I am fortunate enough to live in a neighborhood with a two mile tree-lined path, and these are the only inorganic "scenery" besides the path and adjacent road. It's ruined my daily walks.

I'll give anyone a second date if they accept. Maybe not a third, but everyone gets a second chance. It doesn't cost much since I don't do extravagant dates to begin with, so that weeds out those women quickly.
