we had a chevy bolt, lived in condo, parked in a parking garage in Cow Hollow in SF. Had no problems charging either at work, or at a charging station down by the marina. We drove it to Yosemite a couple times, drove to Paso, and Napa all for fun. Got rid of it because we didn't need a car while working from home.

Long story short, it was useful and viable even though we didn't have charging.

Thank you for your comment of sanity. I have a ‘smart tv’, never connected it to wifi. Turns on within seconds. No bloat.

Stores have thought of this, and know the effects already. Apparently putting products behind glass causes almost a 50% drop in sales( because people don’t want to bother), so stores would prefer not to put anything behind glass or a counter, but they do because the alternative is 100% loss from theft.

I read the article. It tries to give a balanced view of both the good and the bad, including details, but if your read the article closely, it doesn't say exactly what the union is trying to do.

Also read the 2 links provided above, because I was interested. On the second page 'what will the union do" the answer is 'its up to us', so I tend to agree, it's not clear what they are asking for yet.

Ive seen this 'people need to live near work' argument, but I don't know what its based on. If a teacher has to commute an hour, they will commute an hour. If a bartender has to commute, they will commute. Wouldn't it be better to make transportation cheaper and easier to use? That way people could live where they can afford, and still work in another place. I don't understand why people have to subsidize someone living close to their job.

I like that Elon is asking for specific outcomes, even if the wording isnt exactly accurate. I imagine he runs his companies the in similar ways. You can see how defensive the UN is getting when asked for detailed outcome based plans, vs lofty statements with vague outcomes like ‘prevent geopolitical instability’.

the people who are buying tesla's don't want a 9 year old car. You took some long farfetched comparison about 'feature parity, (oh except for these 2 big things) and then created a false argument. sometimes I wonder what people are thinking.

maybe its time to be honest with yourself. you don't have the drive to achieve something big. you watch movies as your big night to relax. do something better. who feels accomplished after watching a movie. cmon. the amount of people on this site that lie to themselves is too much.

this is what I don't get about this site. The world is software. you can code anything. and yet the majority of people sit around and complain. Its no wonder that you all are burnt out and bitter. The best is when people complain about tracking software, or windows telemetry. Software engineers wrote it! they are you're own people. its not a business guy that wrote the code. you're all weak!

I feel bad for you. but eventually if you've failed 6 times, you have to look at yourself and understand what you're doing wrong. It actually sounds like you might have clinical depression, and that's not anything to take lightly. There is tons of help and support and if you want, I'd be happy to help.

What does more strategic mean? Doctors aren’t data collectors. Their job is to provide patient care. If you want data collected, design a system that doesn't add to documentation burden.

is it more fair to say one reason they don't like holding cash because they have to pay interest to their depositors on it without getting any return on it?

So putting the cash to work (in a reverse repo) even at 0.05% allows them to convert it to an asset and generate some return.

Heres what I'm thinking. Since we have money, we test test test to make sure things work. Then each developed nation usa, Russia, china, India, Japan, UAE, Canada, ESA etc with a space program launches 1 a day for a total of 30 days. That would allow 30 shipping containers to arrive within days of each other. The first few are redundant life support/escape/return, the next few allow you to start building, the last few allow you to grow. In the meantime we are building and launching as fast as we can. you have to think ahead by 9 months and have everything planned out as best as you can with redundancy. So scaling, teamwork, redundancy and thinking ahead. Also money, lots of money.
