BBC Microbit kids hardware platform uses WebUSB. It’s a game changer for introducing hardware to students. Just works.
Makecode.microbit.org is the web IDE. Reference URLs for the code make sharing and debugging easy.

Generative AI image bitmaps lack internal detail to enable effective collaboration.
Designers can label SVG elements in their design tools for effective coding collaboration with LLMs. A tool is presented to make this easier.

Of course, but in comparison to bitmap tools like midjourney, you can communicate with an AI by specifying a SVG element to be manipulated. "Rotate ID "logo" 30 degrees" is very legible to the AI

YES! he is the OG of these animations.
There are also cool sites like https://507movements.com
In some ways we are all building from the same source material.
Just finished a super-nerdy amateur hobby project: An exhibit and website to show kids how cool mechanisms are!
Sadly, kids don't get much tangible experience with machines anymore. Ideally, this exhibit will inspire some to explore engineering, even if they are not "book learners". The website provides content to back up the exhibit, with videos and 3D printing files.
The project is inspired by engineering exhibits from the past. Check out the research page for more.
The project will be open-sourced to enable people to make their own and extend it. If you want to collaborate, LMK.
--Steve

There appear to be infinite resources for learning software, any suggestions on the mechanical side (besides Lego+FIRST)?
Perhaps something like the Boston Museum of Science Clark Collection of Mechanical Movement

I’m helping some kids learn coding via Lego Mindstorms, and am shocked how complex the visual coding is, and how non transferable it is to “real” (text) coding. Are the mindstorms / Scratch based tools supported by research?
Have we seen good examples of UIs that start with text? Thanks!
