Elections have consequences, many people say both sides are the same, but there's one side that constantly does things like this, on top of giving tax cuts to rich people that need it the least. Please go vote on 2028 if you don't want more of this.

I agree with this article, but with one caveat. Don't be the guy that becomes the designated INSERT_OLD_TECH_HERE guy in the office while the rest of the team is working with the cool modern tech that has a lot of jobs in the market, don't pigeon your career by becoming an expert in legacy tech, like COBOL, RPGLE or FORTRAN. You'll find yourself in a position where you'll get fired and won't be able to find another job because there aren't many jobs for your skills and because companies only want to hire people with years of experience in the tech they're using, be it javascript, java, go etc.
And also these legacy techs don't pay that much in general, for every consultant making bank fixing COBOL bugs there are probably dozens or more COBOL developer making less than a javascript developer, so you'll find yourself making less money than a kid with a 3 years of experience in web development, and when you go out in the market trying to switch jobs, you'll have a hard time finding a new job or salaries will suck. Don't be stupid and become the fall guy to keep the legacy debt going while everybody else in the company is learning the in-demand cool stuff and padding their resumes with hire able skills. You will regret it.

Hello everyone, I wanted to ask you how do you learn to build complex web apps by just using javascript? It seems to be a common thing to complain in HN about bloated websites with a heavy use of js and frameworks, for example: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=29703546.
Every time I try to build anything more complex than a weather app, my codebase becomes a mess. I'm still very new to software development and I still have a lot to learn, so maybe that's part of the problem. How do you manage your app state, how do you get back your state after a crash or a refresh? All these seem difficult to accomplish without a framework.
Any good courses, blogs, repos to study in order to learn this? Thank you!

Yep, a few years later Haiti invaded my country and did the same thing, some towns still tell the stories of the massacres hatians committed in DR, they closed down schools and universities, killed blacks, whites and mulattos, by the time we got rid of them our economy was in shambles and the population was about a third of the population when they invated DR, I think this is the single event that has caused the most damage to my country ever.
And let's not forget for those 2 decades we also payed Haiti's dept to France, something we had nothing to do with.
Haitians love to bring up slavery and their treatment by France and USA as the only and main cause of why they're so poor, but the elephant in the room is how corrupted Haitian politicians and business people are, in the 1950s DR and Haiti had about the same GDP, and now DR is about 10 times richer. Corruption is the main cause of why Haiti is so poor nowadays, I should know, my own country is full of it. For some reason they never bring up Papa Duc and Baby Duc and all the other dictators and corrupt presidents they've had in recent decades.
I really hope some day Haiti can get their shit together and start to develop their country, that'll be the best for everybody on the Hispaniola island.
