I am the only Christian in my work group. I am surprised that they are making me work on Christmas Day. I am curious if other find this surprising, or not surprising.

I wonder if a new tech company was founded with a quality-first and customer-service mentality, could they succeed? Especially if there are NO investors trying to make a quick buck.

Certainly the company would provide good jobs, good benefits, salary and bonuses.

But none of this "the company is the product".

MBAs would be strictly forbidden.

A great place to feel this is the USS Hornet in Alameda. This actual ship that you are on, made of steel and loaded with analog electronics, sailed to the far side of the Pacific and back. So much metal, steel, hydraulics, and electrical systems. It made it out and back. Not all the ships did. Mighty ships just like this one, with people like you, did not make it back.

As a consumer, I feel that consolidation is wonderful because it is one less account and password and charge on my credit card that I have to think about.

I also have some firsthand knowledge here and I can assure you that promo-driven culture will not result in optimization for the consumer.
