This article also has a few problems
> I believe for example if it wasn’t for biases and unequal opportunities, then the higher ranks in science and politics would be dominated by women. Hence, aiming at a 50-50 representation gives men an unfair advantage. I challenge you to provide any evidence to the contrary.
Claim bearers are burdened with proof. Otherwise I can say 'I claim it is not so and if you believe otherwise you provide evidence to the contrary' and we would be a bunch of children shouting nonsense
> I’m not remotely surprised, however, that Damore naturally assumes the differences between typically female and male traits mean that men are more skilled.
He didn't say that
> The biggest problem with Damore’s memo however is that he doesn’t understand what makes a company successful. If a significant fraction of employees think that diversity is important, then it is important. No further justification is needed for this.
No, what makes a company successful is the positive impact it has on employees, customers, the communities it operates in and shareholders
> Biases and unequal opportunities are real. (If you doubt that, you are a problem and should do some reading.)
Why assume your readers can only reach conclusions if they are dumb ? Why not point out the specific readings that you have done ?
> And let us be clear that, yes, such policies mean every once in a while you will not hire the most skilled person for a job. Therefore, a value judgement must be made here, not a logical deduction from data
Value judgements should also be subject to logical deductions

> But, like a lot of other reasonable people, I'm not open to that dialog
One of the reasons why even gruesome speech is considered protected is so that people with such opinion can speak out and let everyone know who they are. If someone speaks in favorable terms about sexually abusing children, you will think twice about sending your children to that person's home. However, if such speech is prohibited, you will never know this person's intention and that would put the children living near that person at risk
You personally do not have to debate them, but their speech should still be protected
Sunlight is the best disinfectant

From https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Healthcare_in_Sweden
> Costs for health and medical care amounted to approximately 9 percent of Sweden’s gross domestic product in 2005, a figure that remained fairly stable since the early 1980s. By 2015 the cost had risen to 11.9% of GDP -the highest in Europe
> According to the Euro health consumer index the Swedish score for technically excellent healthcare services, which they rated 10th in Europe in 2015, is dragged down by access and waiting time problems, in spite of national efforts such as Vårdgaranti
Seems like the effects of socialism is starting to take effect
I could not find much details on public transport in Sweden

Stallman was criticising the lack of arrays etc in Tcl which stops it from being used for building complex applications. Tcl author John Ousterhout responded[1] to this by saying that Tcl is a mere glue language and not a replacement for C/C++ and we need both type of languages.
If you look at today's language landscape, you have langauges like C, C++, Java etc occupying the "serious" niche and languages like Python etc occupying the "glue" niche ( although sometimes these languages do exchange roles ). The "glue" languages that succeeded did have support for arrays etc.
I think both parties have been proven right, at least partially.
[1] http://vanderburg.org/old_pages/Tcl/war/0009.html

I assume the thinking goes like this :
ZFS was designed for enterprises. Enterprise software has requirements of high stability, scale etc. Google is probably on the extreme end of these problems. So if Google considered and rejected ZFS it probably means it was not very good.
What probably really happened was that Google was already too invested in Google File System and therefore did not give other file systems a fair chance

It can be structured so that an accuser does not automatically become guilty of false accusations because the accused was found 'not guilty'. In other words, sexual harassment cases can have 3 verdicts : 'guilty', 'not guilty' and 'other'( technicalities, not enough evidence etc). Then, you will still need to prove that the perpetrator knowingly accused someone of sexual harassment for some gain. Looks fairer to me
