If by that you want Vim to become compatible with Neovim Lua plugins, Vim will have to add and maintain compatibility with the whole Neovim non-Lua API as well (new functions, options etc). This will never happen.

Yes, that's possible. You can set any X11 window as a child of another X11 window, the parent window will be responsible to manage (taking care of window geometry and what not) child windows.

Is there an affordable 4-port DisplayPort 1.4 switch? How are they almost 10x more expensive than HDMI variants? Paying 500€ for a KVM box is not justifiable, I only want to avoid physically re-plugging the cables.
