Come on, you can't keep trying to interrupt the intentions of some blokes who have been dead for 200 years.

This isn't 40k.

A large amount of work has been done this year alone to reduce botting to levels i didn't think was possible.

Obviously we only get the details JMods are willing to give away but some of their techniques can be seen in various reddit Smackdown posts like this one from six days ago - https://preview.redd.it/prx0s0qp2hlh1.png?width=355&format=p...

New comment by swarnie in "Buyer cancels showing after Deflock shows two cameras utilized by the HOA"

It wasn't lost or even taken, people voluntarily paid to have it taken away.

Would accepting these cameras be easier if you all paid $25 a month for it?

From the original thread:

> Why would you want to live in an area that has that creepy of a tech product facing the pool? I wouldn’t want the hoa or an enterprising creep of a cop spying on my kids or myself either.

You've all spent two decades strapping microphone/camera/gps combos to the side of your head and filling your homes/cars/tvs/fridges with big tech cameras and microphones but this is the line apparently.

I'm not well versed in American privacy expectations but it seems kind of arbitrary from an outsiders perspective.

Just a couple thousand years of ground/wheel based infrastructure to rework in that few years.

Better get to it.

I'm not familiar with 401k rules but presumably they get a choice of markets and products?

If one is over concentrated its easily avoided.

I doubt it, these kids are never getting clearance.

I expect to find them at an MSP with a firm equal opportunities policy.

I'm not claiming they dont pay everything they legally have to, I'm saying the laws are wrong.

Nick 30 ans is tired and wants someone else to pick up the slack for once.

I'm happy to vote for anyone who can put an extra 0 on that, it would be nice for these companies to pay more tax than me one of these years....

Still buying, currently 12.5 billys underwater.

If they sold today it would be comparable to the largest banking losses from the 2008 kerfuffle

New comment by swarnie in "The deadly rise of giant trucks and SUVs"

swarnie — Tue, 23 Jun 2026 18:08:10 +0000

Our cars are getting pretty big too.

A BMW X5 is only slightly narrower than an F150, a range rover vogue only another inch off that.

All fun and games with road infrastructure built for 108s and clios.....

Do drunk people regularly wonder around in the countryside or is driving massive trucks around population centres common?

I'm confused by this question.

New comment by swarnie in "Humiliating IIS servers for fun and jail time"

swarnie — Wed, 17 Jun 2026 20:06:16 +0000

I'm surprised by this, maybe its industry specific.

An 80:20 split of windows server to everything else has been pretty common in the areas I've worked both as a <10 day contactor and as a FTE.

Really simple.

I read the prerequisites of whatever software im asked to install and do what it says.

I'm not spending the next 3 years of my life trying to make some monitoring platform run on WebLogic i have other jobs to do in 4-8-12 hours.

Nothing internet facing mind.

The exact same argument can be made for cars.

Doesn't stop the government wasting half my Saturday and stealing £100 every couple of years.

We should congratulate cyclist on becoming fully fledged (oppressed) road users.
