I think when companies become a 'necessity' like this, they have to be regulated or broken up. I'm not a big fan of Apple taking a commission if you port an app to their phone and I loathe the idea of having to use iCloud if I want to use Apple Pay, in fact, can't stand the idea of a phone company being my credit card company/bank either.
And don't get me started on non standard USB...what was that? I applaud the EU stepping in and quite frankly i'm looking forward to Apple being broken up. It's that time.

I've been using Python since 2.x and I have to admit which each new release I toy with leaving this language behind. Type hints are the latest warts in what should have been a beautiful language. I tend to agree with Charles Lesleifer and others here. Python3 is a mess. https://charlesleifer.com/blog/what-happened/

What's interesting is this could make areas like AI - that are already dirty and environmentally harmful - even worse. If we don't have a clean source of energy to power the data centers. Concerning.
I think I read or heard somewhere awhile ago that water will be the new oil of the future, and wars will be fought over it.

I think the "intent" to evolution is reproduction. Thus, it makes sense to look at these traits as chosen or adaptive to further this cause. Everything is based on reproducing a species, it's the only reason we know now of even the purpose of life. Everything else is superfluous or constructs towards that purpose. So yes, apparently there is intent to evolution. To live and produce offspring. Otherwise why are we so afraid to die and fight to live.

I think the government for the most part, needs to get out of social media and treat them like TV of old.
The idea is that TV is just a medium. You can post any commercial or information you want on there and it should be up to the viewer to discern what they want to watch and believe.
Look for example at some of the drug commercials, or if you want to get nitty gritty, look at fast food commercials that have carcinogenic ingredients. This is a slippery slope and I sincerely believe it should be the responsibility of the parent, guardian or mature individual to decide what and when and where to watch content.

I hear what you're saying, and actually agree that - unfortunately - is the current state of LLMs today. But I think OP still has a point, and I'd argue as well that that is the aim of GAI, to be able to take a simple question, understand and produce the desired results.
As it stands, and as you mentioned, the current generation of LLMS seem a long way from there. Thus the need for prompt engineers. It'll be nice to see how long they take to crack this problem.
