well, if you look at legal side, the OPPOSITE is assumed in many cases:

- age-limits on smoking cigar(rettes)/sex/drinking

- soft-limits on gambling

- hard-limits on drugs

+ LAMY s-pen

+ paper-feel screen protector

(and optionally felt-tip nibs)

miles better than MPP or AES or other crap: those can't draw diagonal lines without wobbling, thought I was getting parkinsons

well there are just 2 sources for website profits:

1. money from advertisements (from views, visits): you need to be on google search results at the bear minimum.

2. money from non-advertisements, mostly-offline (eg. you sell preminum stuff/service): you CAN hand out pamphlets to your service website IF your ROI per visit is so good to be true...

but even in the 2nd case, it really helps to be on the google's search result

well if bubble pops, everyone will die EXCEPT google

UNLESS openAI/etc actually succeeds in making AGI that never hallucinates and goes over the current LLM limitations

as for google... well they own the web

(+google has plenty of other revenue sources, so it can just pay out its AI survival)

if you're a website owner, would you welcome chatgpt/etc's data-collection bots?

but... as for google's bots... you need your website to be on the Google search results...

yeah similar thing happened to me

gov website changed, seems to have ditched buggy "new" data-collection features

said I couldn't find the menus even after logging in...

shares screenshot and 'expected menu paths' to get there, says "it's simple, look! claude says look there"

repeatedly asked "have you actually checked?" but... reply was "listen, I'm doing a big favor to you..."

...fking crazy...

some people are treating LLMs as some god-send truths

now, since this is coming from the C-level, I can't expect anything good to happen here

well maybe that comment was to diverge public opinion on "anti-counterfeit" here...

the main discussion here was about chinese ecommerce (temu, aliexpress) selling counterfeit fake products...

and this guy shows up saying "products are unsafe!"

well if you looked at blender 2 days, UI was really "user-hostile" level difficult/un-intuitive

well he's not some biochemist...

and even biochemists have trouble within their own field because there's so much 'unknown' stuff in biochem (eg Thalidomide scandal)
