PhotoPea does not support colour profiles - browser limitations. Also GPU acceleration is limited and does not work with large PSD/PSB files. No camera RAW, no advanced selection and healing tools. No plugins.

PhotoPea might work for casual editing. That's not why I use Adobe.

Using Fedora for years, but not on workstation. Because of Adobe, the only reson that I stick with Windows LTSC IoT.

And no, Gimp is not alternative. Neither Affinity, bucause lack of linux support. Or Capture One. Only DaVinci resolve is competition to Premiere because of linux support.

I'm curious if Adobe ends because of unsustainable pricing models and aggressive terms of use (no offline more than week, constant data sending to adobe servers) or because of Ai. Because post-production via complex tools will soon became obsolete compared to prompt-like editing.

If consumers find company do more harm than good, they will not buy their products and company ends. If company ends due to regulations and decisions based on ideologies, then yes, it wis hat USSR does and pay for it till today.

No, I'm not ok with murder or theft and I don't understand why you write about it. Also I'm not sure why you compare free market, where you are free to participate against centralised governance where you must participate. I really don't understand this "totalitarian" thinking.

I believe law cannot teach behaviour. Education, dialogue, trust, transparency could. Any kind of centralised regulations and governance do more harm than good. Cognitive shame and collective guilt killed millions in 20th century, we should learn from it.

It dictate sustainability, but instead create unsustainable behemot that costs tax payers more than it brings. It hampers competitiveness, remove freedoms from citizens and holding back the economy. One of the original ideas of building EU was to bring common market. Not any more.

Basically EU holds power through funding projects by grants, which fundamentally breaks free market and there is no transparency in it (ie. Pfizer contracts, proponents of Chat Control, etc.).

Beside Adobe terms of use and implemented spyware, their software is convenient enough to justify monopoly on market.

Sure, editing via prompts or personalised automated actions would be ultimate convenience, but we are not here yet. Day by day software like those from Adobe or BlackMagic will be obsolete.
