Secret sauce is source control. You can get a matrix switcher and come up with your own controls but smart remotes like URC and Control4 are way more expensive and IMO are less reliable.
Surround speakers need a priority switch if you want matching amp profiles in the home theatre.
I have in ceiling speakers each pair connecting to a sonos amp. Outdoors, in garage, etc. It’s great - for me. I have Play:1s in bathrooms without mics and it can all sync.
Guests can also control it via phone.
What pisses me off:
- Lack of auto firmware updates at night
- Latency with external sources unless you use a sound bar, maybe fixed with port? The connect sucked
- Spotify premium required
- Cost

I also used 555-1212 etc but I used to shop at Harris Teeter and they flagged me. They knew who I was even when paying cash. I would get them to use the store card on occasion but they were strict and it was at manager discretion.
To sign up for their crappy card they copied your ID, something I’m not ok with.

You’re correct. I should’ve replied to a different thread.
In my experience gettimeofday() as a vsyscall is a substantial performance benefit to PHP web applications.
I read the list and added that in thinking it’s relevant to growing the FreeBSD user base.

I completely agree. It should be a fixed price, incentivizing the driver to take the most efficient route.
I also don’t want my driver to see where I’m going, because not all rides are big fares. Sometimes I must get somewhere close and I don’t want a hassle.
Uber has gotten a lot of bad press lately and I think unfairly so.
What’s worse is Amazon’s gig program. Let’s say your doing jobs like assembling BBQs and Treadmills for customers. They don’t pay trip time to the job, so you can drive 40 miles only to find out half the screws are missing. You must get the customer to request the parts, come back, only to find it’s wrong again.
You take a big hit refusing the job but you have to take all the shitty work to get the chance of a real profitable gig.
Much worse than ride share semantics, IMO.
Anyway - another reason to use Lyft.

Everyone is human. Dehumanizing all work interactions sounds pretty depressing.
I think the real problem is considering conversations in jest as evidence. We should all use key base for gossip but not all of us are technical.
If we were then keybase would be included in regulation.
Can’t win.
