If everyone lives on UBI, and all work is automated, who are the consumers? That's some kind of closed communist system that doesn't work. Or maybe it does with AI actually able to centralise everything? Doesn't feel right though.

huh funny name that. When I hiked a glacier in Norway, dead mice (and other things) were everywhere under the ice. I assumed that's what the title was referring to.

I think you're conflating complex and complicated. An OS is very complicated but is predictable. An LLM is complex and not necessarily understandable.

it feels kind of like a concept car a large manufacturer would show off at a motor show. Everyone knows there is no intention to actually ship that thing, but they're exploring concepts and technology and trying to make inroads in what comes next.

I don't know... I've been coding for ~30 years, and I've never had to write code to compute the median so it doesn't seem that useful unless it's somehow relevant to the job

So I thought gravity was basically the curvature of spacetime. But if there's a "gravity" particle, those two things seem mutually exclusive?

I live in a very hot location, and I also happen to like going for long runs. I've long known, if I took my dog with me on my run, it would kill him. Even though he's a fit young dog, there's no way he can handle the heat at running pace for that length of time.

This could apply to many humans too. Many people don't know why they're doing what they're doing, and don't have any understanding of how what they're doing works.

We're really not _that_ much smarter than them.
