Ask HN: Is AI replacing any software jobs?

Mainstream news outlets make it sound like software jobs are actively being replaced by AI. Is anybody actually seeing this?

From my perspective, AI is “a really cool autocomplete”, but nowhere near replacing actual humans, including intern-level.

Am I missing something?

Ask HN: Is anybody building an alternative transformer?

Curious if anybody out there is trying to build a new model/architecture that would succeed the transformer?

I geek out on this subject in my spare time. Curious if anybody else is doing so and if you're willing to share ideas?

I had a similar experience to OP. But the catalyst for me was the Mountain Meadows Massacre[1] which I was completely oblivious to until my mid-20s. It was quite a shock to learn that the church (which I thought was "God's perfect organization") had such an ugly past. The most disturbing part was how much effort the church put to hide and scrub events like this from its members and the rest of the world.
