That is very negative and assumes the worst about OP.
He created something and shared it with the world. It's not to your taste and that's fine. But don't knock someone down for having a red hot go at something.

Re hallucinating APIs that don't exist - I find this with Golang sometimes. I wonder if it's because the training data doesn't just consist of all the docs and source code, but potentially feature proposals that never made it into the language.
Regexes are another area where I can't get much help from LLMs. If it's something common like a phone number, that's fine. But anything novel it seems to have trouble. It will spit out junk very confidently.

For music, Navidrome is superior.
It is just crazy how easy it is to set this stuff up nowadays. I run both Navidrome and Jellyfin in docker containers. Then I use NordVPN Meshnet to securely connect to them outside of the home.
The experience is absolutely flawless. In Navidrome you can host an entire FLAC library and then transcode to Opus on the fly.
It's been over a year now and I have pretty much no issues whatsoever.
I highly highly recommend it
Edit - Opus not Opal!

Seems like everyone loves to hate Ubuntu lately. From the Amazon search icon years ago, to Snaps, Mir, "pro" updates (which I don't get the backlash about..).
But man, I started using this distro 18 years ago? And I still use it today. I can tell you, it's gotten more usable, more stable, and easier to install, without (imo) sacrificing any of what we love about Linux systems. If you hate snaps you can just remove them.
It's an OS I can easily recommend to beginners who want to dip their toes in the Linux world. They can install it without any help.
And I get that so much is a testament to the software Ubuntu uses getting better. But it brings it all together in such a great way.
I used Arch Linux for a few years. But I didn't really like having to check message boards for any breaking changes before updating lest my system become unusable... As a busy professional and dad, I don't see myself switching off of Ubuntu anytime soon.

I ride a private escooter but really detest these rental ones, based on the experience in Melbourne. We'll be banning them too soon.
Private scooters are a thoughtful purchase. Riding them is a thoughtful decision. Most people riding them are not first-timers. So generally those I see on private scooters have helmets and follow the rules.
Rental scooters? Nobody is wearing a helmet, they're being ridden dangerously on footpaths, putting pedestrians at risk. Even at slow speeds they're a danger to pedestrians in a busy city.
It's pretty bad, you just walk around Melbourne on any day and you can see idiots without helmets swerving around pedestrians on Bourke St (a pedestrian only shopping area).

Reminds me of an excerpt from the book The Body Keeps The Score:
When the alarm bell of the emotional brain keeps signaling that you are in danger, no amount of insight will silence it. I am reminded of the comedy in which a seven-time recidivist in an anger-management program extols the virtue of the techniques he's learned: "They are great and work terrific-as long as you are not really angry.
In the moment it's incredibly difficult to think rationally enough to breathe and/or meditate. (2020)"

My understanding was that the regulations applied to a normal wash cycle, but that they don't prevent dishwashers from having additional modes that use more water/energy for a faster clean.
My Bosch dishwasher is only a few years old. On normal mode, it takes 2 hours and 20 minutes. However it has a "Vario Speed" option which uses more water/energy, but performs the same clean in about an hour.
We rarely use Vario Speed. The dishwasher gets stacked after dinner and set on a timer so that it runs overnight. But the option for a fast wash is much appreciated.
One thing I'll say about wash quality is that the detergent matters. In Australia you can check out Choice's list [1]. We did find the Aldi Logix Platinum ones to be pretty good.
https://www.choice.com.au/home-and-living/kitchen/dishwasher...

When I joined my company, I was introduced to this dev who'd been there since the start.
His English wasn't great. His Javascript wasn't "modern" - he kept using callbacks etc. He often poo-poohed ideas the younger wizz-bang devs had. And so I was warned - basically he's an old curmudgeon, set in his ways, he can't take any criticism but he'll dole it out, a pain to deal with.
I quickly learnt how untrue that all was. OK, his code isn't great. BUT he's 100% committed to delivering customer value. He understands the ins-and-outs like no one else. He thinks through every scenario from the customer's perspective, and absolutely NAILS it every time. The young devs didn't like him because he didn't give a shit about "GraphQL versus REST" or "Hapi.js vs Express vs Koa vs whatever".
Where the other teams would avoid involving him in design conversations, I'd pull him in straight away. And our team reaped the rewards of integration projects that delivered right out of the starting gate, rather than customers kicking them right back with complaints.

Similarly, it really irks me how little privacy there is at the chemist/pharmacist/drugstore (listing all synonyms for an international audience).
If I have any questions, they're at the counter with 20 other patrons hearing everything about my medication. Then I take my medication to a separate counter for payment, which is staffed, usually, by a teenager working part-time. Great, now they know what medication I'm on.
Imagine if I were picking up medication for a teenage son or daughter, and the teenager at the counter went to school with them?

I'm really glad they've introduced this, I just wish it also had the traditional formatting methods, eg Infof, Debugf, Errorf, etc, for backwards compatibility.
I've got a few packages that accept a basic logger interface, eg:

  type debugLogger interface {
      Debugf(format string, args ...any)
  }

  type MyThing struct {
    logger debugLogger
  }

  func New(logger debugLogger) *MyThing {
    return &MyThing{logger}
  }

I'd love to switch to slog but I'll have to v2 these packages now.

That's why I appreciate starting strength. It's a novice program and the gains come fairly quickly and easily. Rippetoe himself in Practical Programming makes the point that after the novice phase, you need to assess what your goals are and program accordingly. A football player will have different goals from a runner, who will have different goals from the general sedentary public.
I myself am pretty happy with where I'm at and don't plan on trying to squat 300KG. I appreciate there's a higher risk of injury pushing myself to my limits. And the amount of investment (time in the gym, getting a coach or learning enough to program for that level) is not worth it.
I'm not suggesting that everyone goes and tries to become a powerlifter. I'm just suggesting that for anyone who isn't strong and is looking to become strong quickly, Starting Strength is the best method in my opinion. And as others have pointed out, going from a 20KG to an 80KG squat will make a huge improvement to your life, and is very manageable for pretty much anyone.

Yeah I actually appreciated how easy it was to create daemons with Upstart. I had no problem with it, I just remember a lot of people pissed off that Canonical wrote their own init service instead of using systemd (which they eventually moved to, and which I recognise people also have very strong feelings about).

How are you squatting? Technique is really important. I recommend watching some videos by Mark Rippetoe [1], and also filming your squats to review them. The low-bar back squat is a hip-dominant exercise, and when done properly should not put undue stress on the knees. [2]
I myself had _terrible_ knee pain from squatting. Then my knee started randomly buckling when I would walk.
So I started filming myself. I also used TUBOW [3] to figure out that my knees were drifting far too forward. I corrected my technique accordingly, and started engaging the hips properly. My knee pain went away and I've been pain-free ever since.

  - [1] Learn to Squat, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhoikoUEI8U

One of the best things I ever did was get strong through a basic barbell training program called Starting Strength.
Squat, deadlift, overhead press, bench press, chinups, eat, sleep. It really is that easy.
Highly recommend it for anyone interested.
1. Any back pain I had disappeared completely.
2. When I have to lift something awkward (eg, furniture), I don't injure myself. If you can deadlift 200KG, awkwardly leaning over your lawn mower to grab a 20KG bag of concrete is pretty easy.
3. It is really really handy being able to move heavy things.
4. Basically everything else improves. Going for a tough hike uphill? Your legs will be a lot less sore if you can squat 150KG. Need to hold your screaming baby for 40 minutes? Easy!

A lot of Ubuntu hate, and I totally understand why. We all remember Mir and Upstart. And now Snap. So if this bothers you, by all means look elsewhere.
On the other hand... I've used Ubuntu desktop consistently for about 15 years now. I'm not a power user by any stretch. I just want things to work, and the "just works" factor has improved considerably.
Installation is ridiculously easy. It's fast. It never crashes. It finds all the right drivers for me. Suspend works. Audio works great, including with recording software like Reaper/Audacity.
I just don't have time to mess around with stuff anymore. Gone are my Arch Linux days. I get about half an hour of time after putting our little one to bed, and I want to spend 0% of that on configuring stuff.
