Many do go overseas. They would definitely get paid more in Australia. But New Zealand is a pleasant place to live.

Forestry is well paid in NZ, the average forester is probably better paid than the average developer. Although the ceiling for software devs is much higher.
But Forestry also has the highest number of industrial accidents.
We have a strong health and safety regime and culture. Most primary industries are heavily automated. Yet it only takes a simple mistake to cause injury.

Don’t forget doing only enough manual labour not to get hurt, killed or develop a chronic condition.
You can make a lot of money doing many skilled manual jobs in my country. Trades are highly paid and there is not enough supply. Better money than software development.
They often wreck their backs, or develop other chronic conditions. The successful ones stop doing manual work by the time they are in their 40s and move to running their own businesses employing 20 year olds.
A friend of mine just lost a family member a few weeks ago. He slipped on a roof.

I tend to avoid time series forecasting when I can help it because I find it hard to communicate to stakeholders that a neural network (or another method) is not an oracle.
If you are talking about granularity of observations, it would depend on what you are trying to predict (the price in an hour or the price in 12 months?) and how quickly you need the prediction (100ms? Tomorrow morning?). If I had infinite data I would use granularity as a hyper parameter and tune that to a level that produced the best test results.
I am for example currently using weekly averages for non-price data forecasting. I could use daily data but weekly is absolutely adequate for this purpose.

What is not generally understood is that these models don’t predict egg prices or inflation in Italy.
They decompose a time series into trends, seasonality and residuals. That’s what they are actually modelling.
They cannot predict wars in the Middle East influencing inflation unless there is a seasonal pattern(s).

Either a language barrier or a misunderstanding, since there is no fundamental issue with rust itself.
I flagged this submission.

> Yeah, but you're not normally going to random websites, downloading an exe and running it.
Most or many of secure mobile operating system zero days are caused by image parsing. There is a threat at least as big, if not bigger, in parsing complex file formats.
Sure gopher or gemini would be more secure, but even without JS the web ecosystem would be venerable.

> And... What about accountability for hosting distributing spyware, malware loaded apps from Google Playstore
This is no joke. The Playstore is filled with malware that pretend to be a different app. It takes days if not weeks to remove these apps.
I have twice now had to recover the devices of family members when they installed malware on Samsung phones running up to date firmware.
That malware to this level is even possible is another matter.

London didn't sugar coat the life up there in his novels. The people depicted were all hard people living hard lives, or they were fools, or both.
I can't remember which book it was but the comedic/tragic depiction of an unexperienced sister and two brothers overloading a sled, unwilling to give up useless comforts, so much so that the dogs couldn't move the sled, stuck in my mind.
