Not surprised. I’ve seen a lot of the smart home platforms sold to consumers use shitty proprietary apps. I would never buy them, and I feel bad for those who do. It doesn’t mean a nice, Home Assistant setup is bad.

But they’re right about the setup costs

How does this work legally? If Android AOSP is open-source, once one OEM updates, surely the owner gets the legal right to request sources. IIRC the maximum delay is 30 days.

At least for my discord, I still can't access channels marked NSFW, instead of showing me the verification screen it just says "failed to load messages".

Libraries are able to loan under the first sale doctrine, that is to say that the copyright holder exhausts their right to control the distribution of a copy after the first sale. However, they retain a monopoly on the production of copies.

I disagree with the premise that this even counts as automation. Automatic nagging doesn’t make the actual tasks any more automatic. Simply buying a Roomba would accomplish more than what they did.
