If one does not like a song, then ff or select/scroll through playlist until something found that reflects the current mood.

And that's what is I call the root cause of the problem. Either you concentrate on lyrics, sing along or having that melody rotating in your head.. this is all distracting.

I was a teacher in my earlier career. Each student doing that kind of learning was doing bad later on. And they were convinced that this is helping.

The problem is: out brain memorize by "room". So, for example you learn one thing in a room, then go to another room - your brain automatically switches context. You can have an experiment for that:

For sure, you already experienced the situation where you wanted to do something, then go to the room where you wanted to do it (f.e. kitchen). Arrived there, you suddenly forgot what you wanted to do. The easiest way to remember, you go back to the place where you started.

The same is for learning. Of you hear music, you build up context "room". When you need to recall it, you may have forgotten it. So you need to go back to the "room" to remember, meaning you need to listen to that music, which you hear during learning.

One also can use perfume/smells for different things.

So, when you need to concentrate or to learn, you really need the room to be calm, non distracting.

I never use music for anything that needs memorization or concentration. The few times I used it, I noticed exactly this:

It's difficult to concentrate because I was in search for music that I like constantly. Switching the playlists, selecting songs I like, etc.. so that's my direct experience and observations of others.

Don't use music. Use perfume, smells and tastes for this.

So this will help you to be creative (which is thinking) and you will end up in something you actually can use without that monotoneism. My take would be to write a chrome extension that is able to add annotations in text inline (line ms word {} hidden auto tags) and can copy paste text into prompt input. Or standalone version of this with scripts.. make your live easy and enjoy the tools for selfempowerment! :)

It's a tool and I'm using it too. You forget things when you don't steady repeat them. It's a use it or lose it situation, but a win-win for your self empowerment.

So, how do you use it? May be you just need to change a little bit in your usage, like me switched on verbose mode answering so i can read what's actually being done during thinking steps and code. That keeps me busy babysitting that energy sucker. ...

- dont forget xxx and yy

- DONT ask me what you can see in the code, look it up yourself

- ..

eliminate the desktop, taskbar, and file explorer and run only Command Prompt or PowerShell (replacing explorer.exe with a CLI shell in the registry) or using Server Core/Nano Server principles

Delete some mails to free up storage:

Mailbox will be full. Upgrade (pay) OR free up space. If your free tier is full then you stop receiving or sending ability..

Delete some attachment-heavy mails. I do it all the time (but with goog, out of same reason)

I never have thought about this.

It's not only the slow responses or other means of making the work slower in the background (for anthropic means slowing down pure money saving -> big incentive), it's also not fixing their CC client, leaving it slow like a snail. Key presses are lost making corrections necessary. But you have to wait until CC finishes it's ongoing exploration/update/writing/ bash.. Tool calls are slow as hell. Everything is slow!

It's like to buy a Ferrari and the manufacturer pays it's fuel per minute of usage - then make the Ferrari starting up very slowly, make it react to input after 10-30 seconds, let it artificialy slow down everything.

Management Task: "promise, and then hide adverse actions without transparency or possibility to control for the driver!" -> task solved very effectively, bonus saved!

I really hope some will take it to court, in California, in Europe and every other place affected.
