Came here looking for some examples, i tried some pcb routing, its horrendous. But you inspired me to maybe just run with it? Like design a alarm clock and see what abomination ‘it’ will come up with and just run with it/produce it anyway? Would be fun!

Tools? Mmmm i tried making a openCV based tool to recognise circular objects on sat. imagery, it didnt work at all (tried for two weeks), changed to a LLM, it seemed to work, or it was just a little bit off, O gave up. If anyone wants to collab in this space, shout out! Ah also a translation tool for pdfs… its also stuck in limbo, forgot why again…

Consistency is super hard to achieve if you are not cutting daily in a (climate) controlled environment, even then, you will burn out the cutting head transducers, your cutting heads will dull (super fast). Operational costs are pretty high. Wonder how much they will charge for this lathe. I guess 40-80k USD?

There is one company that sells similar lathe cutters in Europe. To aquire it you need to go on a multi day training in a remote Swiss forest. Then it’s around 10.000 EUR in equipment, granted you supply your own record player (sl1200 ~700EUR). But yeah cutting high quality stereo records is an art. No matter the money you throw at it, it will involve a lot of maintenance, skill, experience, spare parts, mastering skills, consumables, and time (these cut in real time). Indeed, who wants to do that? I welcome any effort in this niche though!

Honestly this is why i stopped playing and watching any soccer. Every match the city would turn into a fortress and still there would be regular riots, the game seemed to have taken second seat and its more about whats going on around it. Even when games got cancelled because of violence in the stadiums, the ‘game’ would continue outside (violence). So tiring, boring, destructive, terrible.
