is that really true? this election more than ever most voters believed they had to choose the lesser of two evils and didn't like their choices. both candidates had record disapproval ratings. i understand trump isn't a typical politician but it didn't quite seem like people got what they want... more that they voted against hillary and for a republican supreme court.

everything in the world is susceptible to trends. especially in the tech world we tend to embrace concepts and take them too far. we then realize we took it too far and adjust too far to the other side like a pendulum. As usual, somewhere in the middle is best.

the laffer curve and supply side economics is junk/propoganda masquerading as economics. It's about as real as the scientific studies exxon releases against global warming.

yeah idk if it's just me but instagram ads seem so much more intrusive and personal than facebook ones. what creeps me out is that i hardly ever use the service yet they can target ads since i use facebook

but what makes the game more fun? from what i've seen, most people agree that Nintendo games are some of the most fun consistently and yet they use this process. Meanwhile there have been many disasters like no mans sky that have been built iteratively.

yeah i try to do that but then other cars just merge in between the space i leave in front of me and force me to be on their tail. meanwhile the guy behind me never leaves enough distance either. safe driving doesn't mean anything when others drive recklessly

i'm curious to know if abolishing tipping reduces performance? it seems like there's no reason to put in extra effort if all of them are paid the same and that the worst performer could be paid the same as the best.

NDT's political views could be informed by science though. One party clearly does deny science and from purely that perspective one could make an informed decision. Furthermore, knowing that someone is intelligent likely to reason about politics does influence me to put more weight in what they say than otherwise. Of course one should also examine the arguments themselves but one can be a little more certain they are well thought out and worth examining if they come from certain sources.

so is the capital gains tax only on the profit from the stock? wouldnt it be better just to sell instantly and not have so much of your money tied up into one asset anyway? Sorry if these are basic questions

uber seems to be run very poorly from my exposure to them. when i was applying for jobs, they contacted me and said that theyd interview me in 2 to 3 weeks. My deadline for another company was in 3 weeks as well. They failed to schedule anything and contacted me after 3 weeks were up and said it'd be another month before they could interview me. For reference, Facebook flew me out and interviewed me on campus 2 days after I had my phone interview and 3 days after they contacted me originally. Either way, I wouldn't work there in a million years considering everyone i've ever met that works/interns there said they worked 60 hour weeks.

i believe he said "far right". this could be interpreted as anything from tea party to neo nazis and fascists depending on what "far" means. However i wouldn't take it to be directed to all "Conservatives".
