Check your settings. I experienced the same until I altered Apple TV settings that fixed Disney+. If I recall, the setting was Match content or Match dynamic range (not near tv right now to confirm exact name)

The book "Commodore: A company on the edge" covers a bit about early MOS. It was quite fascinating. Worth a read if you are interested in the era.
Its amazing what Chuck Peddle accomplished

Solution for my kids was buy or borrow whatever books they show interest in.
If they like reading comics, then get a stack of comics.
I allowed them to stay up later (if they want) but the condition is that time only can be used for reading. They really enjoyed that and it helped.
In time they traded the comics to fiction novels and their reading ability kept improving.
They now get books from the library on their own and read quite a lot for their age. No parental pressure needed, they are addicted.

It's a shame. I'd happily take good books (low cost or free) but storage and shelf space is the problem.
I used to imagine running some kind of second hand book business (non profit) when I retire. Sad that these days it may not be feasible.

At the time, Sega did ok marketing the dreamcast. They had a huge line up of titles. It was almost everything one could ask for.
The issue was Sony released the PS2 a year later and convinced almost everyone it was far superior with the emotion engine.
Most people I knew at the time were convinced PS2 was next coming of Jesus and worth waitng for. Few people had multiple consoles, so Sega really got crushed by the competitive market and accumulated losses from their past mistakes.

I would also recommend writers to keep their digital books up to date and current. The book should not be considered finished the day it is released.
Jeff Geerling gave his devops books away (free) on multiple occasions. I chose to pay for them as he kept working on and improving them well after release.
If more writers took this approach, the quality would increase.

I've heard that buybacks can be weighted toward purchasing stock back from management and staff before buying back from the market.
If this is true, then I'd prefer dividends. I can put the capital in another company if I choose.
Buybacks seem like another lever to help management class cash out as a company starts to slump.

That does not sound correct. Sun exposure is still linked to melanoma risks. Regular sun exposure does increase protection (due to melanin in skin?) but doesn't remove the risks.
Being active in the sun for long period in New Zealand or Australia for example would put you at higher risk for melanoma due to higher UV exposure

In the case of infants, sometimes their ability to break down bilirubin is reduced. small amounts of sun exposure could be recommended
My understanding is when children are born they may get put under a uv light for this. Your grandparents knowledge may be prior to modern treatment

It's probably too late but Mozilla should have pushed on with FF OS or some kind of operating system strategy.
By now they could have had it on large market of cheap phones with an app store to give some revenue. The phones with USB C could be a basic PC, like they envisioned in design concepts back in 2010.
Add slick, basic desktop to growing market of raspberry pi like devices... they'd have integrated their browser everywhere.
The chance to offer a phone that is also a PC is something no companies want to offer. They can't risk cannibalizing their existing products.
Mozilla should have done it.
Anyone curious and don't know my reference, search for 'mozilla seabird concept pico projector'

That's what I was getting at but didn't articulate it well enough.
I'd pay per title if the prices were reasonable. It does seem like a missed opportunity. I know plenty of people in their 40s who'd more likely slap money on retro titles than they would on any new game.

PCBoard was great. The documentation and ability to extend it was amazing.
I remember when the company shut down.
I felt quite sad about it. The BBS culture was interesting.
The anticipation of dialing in and sending a message, then dialing back to vheck for a reply, only to realise you might be tieing up a line preventing a reply from being written.
Internet forums never were quite the same to me.

My point is that the client has been given a mixture of plug-ins, some free and some licensed. Not all are designed / architected in a manner to be modified or extended. It can be a mess.
The plugins don't always upgrade easily or work well together in the future.
Wordpress is ok for some situations, I'm not against using it. I've seen enough times where it's been used and another solution Django or Drupal may have been a smarter long term option.
