It is not an uncommon view among scholars that humidity and age caused more papyri to be lost than the burning down of the library of Alexandria did. Many of which would have survived by being repeatedly copied and disseminated throughout the region.

Yes, AI is getting better at finding exploits and cracking software, but it will also get just as adept at defense. It will all escalate, but mostly maintain parity.

Conspiracy theorists have long pointed out the obviously drilled holes in stonework that was >5000 years old. Of course they want to attribute it to lost advanced technology, but the more believable answer is that ancient Egyptians had really refined mundane tools like a bow drill.

I still want to know how the scoop marks were made in the ancient quarries. What tool could do that?

While Wikipedia is terribly inaccurate and heavily biased, it can be a useful starting point for information on a topic. You have to take advantage of the links to other sources on the page, which often have a different conclusion than what is presented in the article!

Love Wytch Hazel, good call! I'll give your other recommendations a try. I'm not trying to say there is NO good metal being made. Of course there's Sabaton, The Sword, Lucifer, and Ghost. But those are the exceptions, IMHO.

Actually, the more I think about your reply, no. Modern "heavy metal" is some guy growling and yelling in the mic, unless you know of a metal singer with a great Rob Halford or Ronnie James Dio voice I can listen to. An exception is Zakk Wylde, that dude is badass, I had the good fortune to see him perform at Red Rocks.

You're right, I should have used country as an example. But the kind of metal I'm talking about, good 70's and maybe even a little 80's hair metal is in short supply these days.

I do listen to a ton of new music, there is enough time in the day for both. And if I want a cool new 70's style heavy metal song that is about a niche subject like the Chronicles of Prydain, AI does an amazing job.

Can confirm that Magna-tiles score high on replayability and are way easier to clean up than Legos. My kids are teens now, but were the right age when these came out.

Lincoln Logs and Tinker Toys for a greener more affordable option.

MacOs and iOs are going off the rails. It is clear the CEO is not providing a vision, not guiding the direction, and not assuring the quality of those products.

While not as bad as Windows, which has way too many chefs in the kitchen, it is getting there.

Attached my old gaming rig to the TV to run Steam on it and it is a better experience than any consoles I have (being a gaming nerd I have everything from my old Atari 2600 and most mainstreams systems since then up to PS5).

This is good news to hear Valve going in strong for the console market.

onerous and overly burdensome regulations make it nye impossible to build in this state. The environmentalists have a throttle on California. That is coupled with the wealthy not wanting their home values to go down with new low cost housing built anywhere near them. These add up to skyrocketing home prices in CA.
