WiFi SSID, along with the signal strength is used to precisely locate a person down to ~ a meter. Commercial GPS capabilities don't have that level of precision, but when you combined with WiFi information, you can.

There's always a push and pull between old and new tech and I agree some of the hot new tech is regurgitated old tech, but most of your examples aren't really comparable.

Because a security vulnerability in the common library will have a much larger impact. It also increases the potential attack surface by adding more components. Companies value the secrets they keep and want to make sure they have 100% vertical control, where they can audit everything.

Also, at any project with a sane architecture, you're using 1 vault and maybe 1-2 ambient strategies to pass the data. You won't use all the vaults at the same time anyway

That is called a stack interchange, it's much larger and much more expensive to build and have no peds or bike access.

Well, it's a service interchange it's meant to connect a highway to a street road, so you'll need to build it in the city.

All service interchanges take a lot of space. Europe has a lot of system and service interchanges too. DD doesn't take a lot more space than a regular cloverleaf, which is commonly found all over Europe. It is however, less flexible, as the loops in cloverleaf can be shaped to fit the area.

It is capable flowing quite a large amount of traffic, so it's not suitable for building anywhere.

basically you get to choose how hard you want to work out, but at about 250w-500w boost, you will maintain about 130bpm, which will burn 400+ calories per hour. It's a pretty decent work out while still being quite pleasurable.

And you get a hill you don't like, you just use max assist and go up without sweating.

overwhelming majority of their users are readers. very few actually bother to write something, and even fewer have something valuable to say. those are the ones with high karma and those are the ones that drive traffic to the site. so yeah, even if 50k users who drive traffic delete and move out, it matters to the site.

Additionally, this only happens for cars built for the U.S. The other countries have electronic immobilizer requirements, so they have them.

Quora is a shithole too. I remember 5-6 years ago I hung out in Quora because it high quality content from real experts. It was really interesting. Now it's nothing.

Websites (forums, mostly) have figured out they'll actually drive more traffic if they didn't have a sign-up wall.

The signup requirement is myopic, some PM looking into the data and doing some math they can make more $$$ per unique visit if they make them sign up, not realizing the long-term harm it creates because it drives the unique visits way down.
