The parent commentor is being strangely dismissive and they are 100% wrong. In washington merely printing out a new ballot will immediately cancel the old one. It says it on the damn website.
I can't speak for Oregon, but this is not FUD. I can't imagine any good intentions from someone being so disinterested in the possibility of fraud.

Apple has already stated (with regards to China) that they will respect the laws of the nation they are offering service in. So while they put up a constant assault against privacy invading moves in the US, they handed chicom the keys to iCloud with zero pushback.
If this passes you can be sure anything digital is no longer safe from alphabet agencies. Sadly the younger generation has no concern for privacy and the older generation likely has no clue their data is being siphoned. Advocates are too much of a minority to make a difference.

Have you considered how people who write publicly and receive no attention may feel even worse? This is no different than the dilemma people feel about posting photos on Instagram or facebook.

I don't mean to be hostile but I think you are clueless. A lot of what shows up on tiktok and gets promoted can have a massive influence on what it's users begin to deem ok. And as kids grow they are far more likely to form opinions based on their peers than parents.
Dances may have been tiktoks start but the shift to shortform videos on a specific topic in rapid succession meets the criteria of propaganda. Particularly if they are humorous or provide a dopamine response.
China much like twitter and facebook and youtube has complete control over what their supposedly "unbias" algorithms direct users to. It is trivial to push propaganda between dances and jokes. Swaying public opinion has never been easier than in the social media age.

I'll preface my statement by saying I'm an independent and don't support either major party because it seems like the moment you criticize either you get called a libshit or republicunt.
That said, why are ID's not required to vote in the US when they are required for every single other government related task? Congress could very cheaply fund such a program, and even if they didn't it's not as though licenses/ID's are free yet they're required for everything, even to get a job. Voter suppression is a bad argument but I've never heard another one.
Second, why are states choosing to mail everyone on voter rolls with a ballot whether they asked for it or not? Now does not seem like a time to be changing the way we vote. We manage to grocery shop for the past 6 months, we can manage to go to the polls without dying.
It almost seems like democrats want the results of this election to be in dispute. Because there is zero logic for the things they are doing and all of it requires extreme levels of cognitive dissonance to stomach.
Both sides are playing dirty and neither side wants to admit it.
I'm astonished at how many friends, brilliant people I'd never expect to become so tribal, have fallen into the trap of partisanship in the past four years. These people are 100% convinced the other side is evil, and are unwilling to admit their side could be wrong about anything. I will point out something a candidate on either side did any they will do all the kinds of mental gymnastics to justify it. And funnily enough I get flak for not choosing their side. Centrist are apparently aiding the enemy now.
