There's a little bit of a grading your own homework aspect to companies being able to declare their new models revolutionary.

It doesn't mean they're wrong, but there is a clear conflict of interest.

You make the argument from the consumer side, it's hard to argue, but digital systems are far more profitable. So that's how we got the world we got.

Technologists make the same mistake over and over in thinking the better technology will win. vhs vs betamax, etc.

Actual consumers not only don't care, they will not even be aware of the difference.

There has to be a marketplace for domains or other goods that require escrow or a trusted third party.
