Always glad to read histories of Lua in the wild, it certainly is kind of an odd language but its simplicity and embedability makes it for a great choice for a lot of use cases.

I used to like moonscript coffescript-like syntax, but nowadays I mostly like plain lua, though Fennel looks appealing.

lua could have been a good replacement for yaml configuration files, the tables syntax is really natural and being a full programming language (a small one) allows for more complex usage.

Funny enough I've been on Linux +10 years, and I've seen the same arguments, it's ugly, games don't run, etc.

There's been ton of progress, thankfully people keep using linux besides the very vocal frustrated "failed" migrations.

So much wasted potential, I was a top 1% reader for a couple years (mostly because I saved a lot of things probably); it was a convenient way to save articles and references in multiple devices but at the end I was frustated it was so cumberstone to keep links organized.

I stopped paying premium and migrated to a self-hosted Wallabag, which doesn't have all the features I want but hey, in hindsight it was the right decision.

It would be cool if they open sourced the code, but one can only dream.
