Botnet of Ares is an incremental hacking roguelite set in a cyberpunk world where everything is connected. Unlock upgrades, expand your botnet, optimize your network & exploit millions of devices.
Inspired by games like Uplink and Hacknet, Botnet of Ares moves away from faux terminals and one-machine-at-a-time hacking. Instead, you manage and expand an evolving network of infected devices, balancing exponential growth with real-time threats.
The gameplay is active incremental & run-based. Your botnet gets bigger and bigger as you progress through the game, reaching tens of thousands of devices within an hour of gameplay. You might be managing exponential growth one moment, then scrambling to defeat countermeasures before your whole run collapses.
The game is still early in development, and I'm actively shaping it based on player feedback. So far, testers have been very positive - several have spent 5+ hours across multiple runs
Join the Steam playtest:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/3627290/Botnet_of_Ares/
Scroll to 'Botnet of Ares Playtest' below the screenshots and click Request Access. I'm granting new testers access daily.

You can also build a rectifier with no voltage drop using an op-amp with some diodes in the feedback loop. But that might be considered cheating :)

I've been studying for my amateur radio license recently, and this article is a great introduction to the basics.
But really, if you want to get your hands dirty with some practical electronics, and also want to be able to communicate without relying much on nearby infrastructure, amateur radio is a great hobby.

I'm working on Botnet of Ares, a hacking simulator game for PC [0]. It's an homage to classics such as Uplink and Hacknet, and also a commentary on the state of the IoT security industry.
Recently I've managed to port the game onto a real-world cyberdeck, the uConsole.
I too struggle with procrastination. I have a big personal project that is nearing completion & very important to me, but also turning into a bit of a slog. However, because I'm procrastinating working on said project, I managed to do many other things that are also important to me, such as writing more & sharpening some skills.
