What time horizon are you basing this on? It seems like most EVs will retain 70-85% capacity after a decade.
There likely isn’t data for anything beyond 12-15 years but I’m not sure that’ll matter given most people own cars ~7-8 years.
https://evelectriccars.com/electric-car-battery-lifespan/

Randomly came across your comment on this thread and took a few minutes to check out your sandbox env. Could totally see something like this taking off or getting bought out by a bank/Intuit/etc.
I may be a bit biased since I'm huge into personal finance, but hopefully you can target that segment and carve out a solid set of paying customers

Whole heartedly agree with this post. I didn't start meditating until my mid-20s and am just grateful to have discovered the practice at all.
Instead of swimming in your thoughts/emotions all day, meditation teaches you how temporary and fleeting they are. This helps you detach from them and not take your own thoughts so personally (if that makes sense). It's like you have a 50,000 foot view above your thoughts as they come and go.

This is awesome, congrats on the launch. As I work mainly on internal data platforms, is there any support for building cohorts without the need to opt in? Essentially we'll just sync with our user tables or do LDAP lookups to create panels

I have to very much agree with this comment. I thoroughly enjoy using JIRA and Confluence. The two go hand in hand very well.
As many others have mentioned thought, it is abysmally slow. At least their Cloud offering is, which is the core product we use at my job. I've used older on-prem deployments though and they were lightning fast. Seems that they're deprecating this solution by 2024 though.
I recently completed a JIRA survey, and slowness was my number one complaint. Hopefully the Product teams read through those surveys or peruse HN. Everything else about JIRA works great for our Software Development needs.

You can try adjusting the height of the steering wheel? I run into the same issue in my E90 335d, but it's by choice as it's where I like the steering wheel to sit in relation to my seat position.
Very much agreed on the feeling and weight of the stalks. By far the best in the business. Especially for knowing the difference between a lane change vs. turn signal

Just wanted to echo this sentiment as well. I just replaced my 15" 2010 Macbook Pro and the thing still runs strong. A battery replacement and SSD upgrade in 2015 really gave it a second life.
It's unfortunate it no longer gets software updates and also is plagued by the GPU Kernel Panic issue. Otherwise, I would keep it longer.
Hoping my new 2020 13" can last at least half as long!

It seems pretty clear that while the AutoPilot technology may be cool or fun, it is nowhere near ready for full-self driving as Tesla has marketed it as. Using cameras + radar + neural networks may not be enough - no matter how cool the underlying software stack is.
Similarly, I also question other self-driving car manufacturers (Waymo, Cruise, Uber) approaches using a Lidar/Radar/Camera suite.
The long tail of the problem is immense and going to take years to solve with the current technology.
To me it's clear that a new set of technologies that are more dynamic and responsive going into unknown situations is going to be needed to make it "foolproof" (if that is even possible at all).
Disclaimer: This is coming from someone who naively thought full-self driving cars would already be on the road by now back in 2015

Currently a PM (although furloughed unfortunately), so the Coursera course has helped me have greater breadth/understanding and so many more tools to bring back to the office if/when business picks up. If my role is cut, I'll jump into the PM job search more actively and have been preparing for that possibility too.
In my previous role I was a Software Engineer, and made some great contacts that have some DevOps consulting opportunities. I'd like to take on some of this work and the AWS CSA Associate cert will definitely help. I'm about halfway through Linux Academy training and it has already been invaluable for my overall systems architecture and design thinking.
If you have any other thoughts/advice/questions, happy to chat more! Contact info is in my bio
TLDR: Currently a furloughed PM (Coursera) and have some cloud consulting opportunities (AWS CSA Associate cert)

Completely agree. That's all I've been doing while furloughed and it's actually given me a lot of time to dive deep into things I didn't previously have the time for (AWS CSA Associate studying via Linux Academy and a Coursera Product Management course).
As long as your basic necessities are covered (food, shelter, etc.), this is a great way to go.

Before I dive in, I wanted to wish everyone well during these tough times. I hope you and those closest to you are all staying healthy and safe.
Hi Hacker News! I'm a first time Show: HN poster here with a lightweight MVP for trading puzzles.
Given the amount of time we are all spending indoors and with puzzle sales through the roof, I thought it would be useful to build a classifieds site for trading puzzles locally or across states in the US. It is mainly inspired by friends and family who post puzzles on their Instagram stories non-stop and this NPR article: https://www.npr.org/sections/coronavirus-live-updates/2020/0....
I've tried to keep things as simple as possible for this initial launch - stripping out a lot of functionality from the Classima WordPress theme. My hope is that I can gauge interest and gather some tangible feedback before sinking more time into it.
If you're curious about the under the hood stuff and costs, check out the info below:
- WordPress 5.4.1 (hosted on SiteGround). $0.99/month for the first 3 months!
- Classima theme (Classified Listing PRO). $40
- Google Domains. $12
- Logo from Hatchful by Shopify. Free
Huge shoutout to my sister and buddy Alvin for their time spent testing/giving feedback. And of course, my girlfriend for her encouragement and push to get it out as soon as possible.
I'm all ears for constructive feedback or improvements, so please let me know what you think :)

Someone else has probably mentioned this, but looks like they're trying to sell off old inventory (8th gen, two ports, etc.) with the lower spec versions. Hopefully they'll refine the product line once those are all gone.
Coming from a 2010 MacBook Pro, I'll be stoked to snag one of the higher end 13" Pros sometime this year. The 16" just isn't portable enough for my taste unfortunately.

Totally agree on the MVP front. The term "no-code" may be annoying or way too "buzzwordy" to some, but I think that really misses the point.
These tools (WordPress, Zapier, Launchrock, etc.) can be used to get something out in the world quickly and figure out if it's worth investing time/money into.
