Hi all, I built this as part of my fellowship research — it’s a tiny tool called Prune

The idea is simple: you start with a single sentence (a claim, assumption, or half-formed thought). Prune asks a gentle question, then offers branching rewrites. You prune, merge, or refine, and bit by bit your sentence gets sharper.

It’s closer to a journaling tool than a productivity app — but I’ve found it surprisingly good for surfacing hidden assumptions and clarifying ideas I thought were obvious.

Would love feedback on: - When it feels useful vs. when it falls flat - Features that would make it more than a toy - Whether you’d see yourself using this for work/thinking

I built a free, anonymous app for sorting ideas collectively. I feel like this could be useful for product teams prioritizing tickets as well as friends choosing what movie to go see. This is my second time posting in case it fell under the radar, but I won't post it again. Not spamming!

I built it using https://partykit.dev/ and it runs on Cloudflare. It was actually pretty easy to throw together in a week.

Good question! It's fairly easy to implement and also it "tends to elect broadly-acceptable options or candidates (rather than consistently following the preferences of a majority)" (wikipedia) But I'd like to add other ranking methods in the future

Hi HN! Creator here. I built this because I noticed teams often need to quickly prioritize or rank items, but existing tools add too much friction to the process.

This uses the Borda count algorithm to aggregate everyone's preferences into a single ranking. While simple voting works for yes/no decisions, sorting captures more nuanced preferences and helps find consensus, whether you're prioritizing feature requests or deciding where to grab lunch.

The tool is completely frictionless - no signup required, and polls automatically expire after 24 hours to keep things clean. All data is stored server-side while connection tokens live in the browser.

Found some abstractions in the Shadcn UI react component library and put sliders to them. Curated some google fonts. Realized I could generate an entire Next app for download in a server action. Hoping to build something which saves people time makes more unique looking apps.

I’m the creator of flowchart.fun which is a quick text-to-diagram tool. If I’m being honest I didn’t use it much when developing stuff at first but of late I find it’s really nice if I have a mental dependency graph that I just want to visualize to help prioritize tasks and think about blockers. Mermaid.live is awesome for this. Anything you can drop into quickly imo
