Thanks for the response, that's a legit reason I hadn't considered.

Why would I do this over a Synology DiskStation which allows me a hassle-free way to stream my music anywhere I have a internet connection... I use it daily in my car without a problem, going on my 3rd DSM and ~10 years of this setup.

Now that the initial hype of LLM's has sorta died down and the dust has settled, what are the real-world use-cases that actual developers are using LLMs for?
And looking ahead, what are the future applications of this tech that you are looking forward too that's just not quite there yet. For example, maybe Code Reviews, or even replacing scrum-masters (though that is not dev related, just another 'future example').
TY!

I typically run 3 LLM's at a time in MSTY such as Gemini, Claude 3, Qwen or TinyDolphin, and this week ChatGPT 4o... the answers I get from Clause and Gemini are by far the most useful. The local LLM's are also similarly good / useful (just slow on my m1 mac). ChatGPT 4o... I mean, they sound good, but if you actually try out what it's saying it's not pretty / doesn't typically work or there are issues you run into like the option you need to change isn't there, etc. For example, I wanted steps in how to install Ubuntu on Docker on Windows... Gemini and Clause gave me nearly identical steps (that worked)... ChatGPT 4o... was so off I closed / deleted that window without further thought.
And don't get me started on trying to reproduce any of the vision stuff they showed on Monday, I have yet to get my paid account to do anything remotely similar to those demos... so I guess they were all scripted after all(?)

I'm being asked (pressured?) to get all my developers to 'us AI as much as possible'... so what are the real uses that others have found truly effective, or even transformative... right now we're rolling out CoPilot lics to all our devs, but so far, it's not being used much and basically everyone seem to have the same opinion... '...it is somewhat better autocomplete, but with the added bonus of giving you bogus and / or incorrect responses... so it keeps us on our toes at least.' That's essentially what all my devs have said in one form or another.
Are we missing some higher level uses, or is it that simple? There seem to be a sort of fever dream in management that these tools will magically make unit tests for example 'automatic now', but so far we've not seen that pan out.
What are others strategies around Ai and tools like CoPilot? Are there certain uses / trends that are actually really effective?

My family runs a small mom/pop store and we foolishly claimed our Yelp business page when we opened; at that time I entered all our info, including adding a credit-card to the account.
Since then, yelp has been charging us $150.00 a month basically to not fuck us over. By that I mean, literally, they will remove all positive ads and post/create bogus negative ads. This happened when we first opened our store and refused to sign up with them in any meaningful ways (aka put a cc on file and agree to an advertising budget).
Long / short, it's been 5 years and our business has thrived; we have outstanding reviews on all other platforms and quite honestly, Yelp doesn't matter anymore.
Unfortunately, they are quite good at their scam; there appears to be no way to just close your account, or even remove your cc from your account. I was toying with canceling the card on file, aka call my bank and tell them it was lost/reissue me one, but I am concerned that they'll just keep billing us, and we will owe the past due balance at some point.
I have heard (thank you chatgpt) that some business have been successful at taking legal action to force them to remove your business from their system. I'm not against this considering we're spending $1800 a year just to keep these jerks happy.
The final straw for us is they seem to be dying quite rapidly now; they're sells, people are calling both of us 5-8 times a day. My wife finally answered yesterday and the Yelp sells person literally screamed at her that our business would be ruined if we didn't change our daily minimum budget from what we have ($15 a day - the minimum we could choose) to $35 a day - the maximum they do.
I'm simply done with them and want to stop paying this game. If it takes legal action, that's fine, we've already wasted $1800 for 5 years, and I'm willing to spend some money to end this charade.
If anyone has had experience / success closing their account, please contact me (email on profile), and/or comment below on the step you took. If anyone knows a lawyer that has done this and is reasonably priced, also let me know that, any help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
