Appreciate the feedback and I don't necessarily disagree with your points - the societal argument is an interesting one.

I do think it's interesting that some people are immediately turned off of something because of the whiff of AI even if they like the actual idea or content.

Will likely experiment with different ways of writing in the future!

Author here: I dictated this article into my phone and got a model to transcribe and clean up / reword.

I'd argue that counts as using AI as a tool for conveying my original thoughts.

I do pretty much all of my development in a VM because it's easy to manage and control development environments. It works very well, but I'd make sure that you have a fairly powerful machine.

I'd definitely suggest the Dell XPS range. Both the XPS 13" and 15" laptops are fantastic devices.

I'm a little hesitant to ask for more, because I'm really not in a position right now (for a couple of months, anyway) to be able to afford losing that extra income...

I'm a 21 year-old who has recently gotten into contracting to supplement my primary income (a Software Engineering Apprentice for a Defence contractor).

I earn £12 an hour for my contract work, which I'm quite happy with at the moment because 10 hours a week means I get an extra £500 per month (which is considerable at my age, it pays my rent and bills and some).

I know it doesn't seem much, but I think I'm actually quite lucky to be able to get a gig at my age with my experience.

Yes, I work full-time (37.5 hrs per week) as a Software Engineer and also do around 15 hours of consulting in my spare time.

In my contract, there is a clause that has an issue with this, but only if a conflict of interest occurs. Since both companies are in very different industries (defence & mobile), this hasn't been a problem so far.
