<p>Unless you live in an HOA, theres no real value/use in maintaining your full lot.  Just let it grow, or have landscapers come in a few times a year and keep things trimmed.   Forget irrigation.</p>

<p>I used mine for 5 years as my personal laptop and it was fine, even for development work.  I even ran docker on it.  I'm sure it had to swap at times, but SSDs are so fast now that I didn't even notice.<p>I don't get the hate on the base model / 8GB. If it's not enough for you, don't buy it.</p>

<p>The scary part is that codebases are getting layers of AI complexity, that it's going to cost $$$ to have the latest model decipher and make changes as no human can understand the code anymore.<p>Pretty soon there is no code reuse and we're burning money reinventing the wheel over and over.</p>
