The bug/violation is specific to the dongle/adapter hardware revision that comes packaged with the headset. I bought another one (one revision newer) and the violation does not happen. More details in the dossier.

Sony does not document this. The driver page shows one generic "PlayStation Link adapter". It says nothing about adapter versions.

But I am not at all happy with the way Sony/Playstation handled this.
