While this is a fantastic service for interior decorators, I find the concept of using books as just decorations grotesque.

It’s very simple: Because people go to the library looking for those books. If the library consistently doesn’t have the books people went there for, they stop going. If people stop going to the library, it eventually gets shut down.

I’m skeptical that general purpose LLMs are a good fit for a very specialized medical analysis task. Something trained specifically for the task would be the path I’d explore.

My charitable word would be average. AI means average. And an average CEO isn’t that bad. It’d be a deliberate trade in exchange for less spending on salaries. (just one very large salary)

I’d disagree with trying to make it political. If it’s just about funding, plenty of people are happy the grant spigot is being turned off.

Something that may resonate with a broader spectrum is how science requires debate and polite disagreement. Good ideas can survive being pressure tested. Compelling consensus has terrible long-term outcomes.

I think they’re being misleading, if not outright lying. My feeling is based on how they’re using the legal system to bully people. That’s not something good organizations do, therefore these are almost certainly bad actors.
