Also the letters of the word were rearranged to alphabetical order. And duplicate letters were removed.

So it's not just a dictionary attack. It's that plus modifying the word before using it.

This is brilliant. Future enhancements can match the inner design of the plane to the actual plane used for that route by that airline, and the ability to choose economy, premium plus, busines class, etc...

The 486 chip came out in 1989. The 586 came out in 1993.

The pace of change ("practically obsolete") is different then and now.

If you ever listen to more than a couple of Zitron interviews, it's clear that he's not the "reasonable centrist" viewpoint on AI. He's the doom-and-gloom guy.

Maybe there is someone out there positive on AI itself and calling out reasonable objections to some of the extreme things. But that's not Zitron.

I think cable news channels like CNN and CNBC like to have a "counterpoint" on to make their coverage seem balanced. There's always a guy saying the stock market is about to crash. There's always a guy saying oil will hit $200 per barrel. There's always a guy saying AI is a bubble.

Zitron is never right but he exists so that media can claim to be balanced.

He is charged with obstruction. Not "erasing data". Was he intentionally trying to hinder a search that was being legally conducted?

The worst case of refusing to unlock your phone is that they keep your phone for some days/weeks/months while they investigate.

I will say, moderation is a valuable thing on websites that intend to be useful for people. Wikipedia being another example. Ynews also has moderation.

Sites like Quora don't have good moderation (nor social media sites) and they become less useful for "how do I do X" questions.

LLMs do the moderation of the underlying source and just give you the answer.

I just went to the Stack Overflow homepage, showing newest questions first, and the latest question just asked 13 minutes ago is already closed.

And the majority of the questions on page 1 have negative votes.

How eager people are to find something better IS a factor in the decline of websites/businesses. Not just that there is something better that exists.

I think the main problem is that this will not survive very long once implemented.

Politician A will promise "no VAT on bread" to get elected. The next guy will promise "no VAT on essentials". The next guy will promise "no UBI for the rich". And so on.

And you end up with the next politician dismantling the whole system as unfair.

I think of this in reverse. It's legal for the government to track mail - who sent a message, and who it's going to. They have access to the "outside of the envelope". But it's not legal for them to read the message inside.

And this same principle allows them to build massive friend/connection networks of everyone electronically. The government knows every single person you've communicated with and how often you communicate with them.

It was never designed for this originally.
