<p>Those standards are adopted because they work. And they work because someone poured in tons of RnD to make them work. And those people are incentivised to do the RnD because they get paid (patents).<p>Nowadays nobody will want to work on foundational open source work for free only to enrich everyone else that builds on top of it.</p>

<p>yeah I feel the same way with Opus 5 too. If I ask it to do something, it would go ahead and rewrite unrelated things and then in a less performant version of it.<p>I’ve instead moved to GLM, at least it has the courtesy to ask some steps of the way what I wanted exactly and only work on what I asked.</p>

<p>It has improved a lot since the acquisition. Before the bot purge X was basically crypto shillers or scammers. X now actually feels more organic than, Facebook. Sometimes I see content on X before they eventually gets reposted on Reddit.</p>
