Iranians are protesting because their economy is collapsing from targeted attacks by the US/West.
Foreign media records them and says they are trying to depose the theocracy, propaganda to justify a military incursion.
Wild claims of civilians being killed by the regime, with zero evidence, manufactured from thin air. (WMD's in Iraq, White phosphorus in Syria)
Average person now thinks it's their duty to to send American sons to die in the sandbox for another generation.
The only winner here, israel.

The idea that Iranians are marching in the streets begging for a monarchy is so absurd only the dumbest will believe it.
And specifically they are "dying" to bring back the clown prince, son of a foreign puppet that was deposed by their parents/grandparents.
Afraid the zionist controlled media has already set the stage for an Iraq level invasion, using their propaganda machine, to install the guy they control.

> One of my parents is an Indian immigrant. I have worked with many great Indian engineers and many not-so-great, just like every other nationality.
This kind of blatant, wholesale dismissal is part of the problem. It's not "just like every other nationality". It is overwhelmingly indian nationals abusing the system. Why would we spread the blame to nigerians, or hungarians for what is an indian issue?

> Obama seemed to manage it (around 3 million people)
It is well known that the Obama administration counted turning around people at the border as a "deportation".
> Obama didn't hire record numbers of barely qualified (40-50 days worth of training) people and then send them to occupy American cities
The only cuts from the surge hire training were spanish language and some driving courses, spanish alone consumed 12-weeks. None of the other training material was reduced. In the cases of Good and Pretti, neither agent was a surge hire. This is nonsense rhetoric attempting to delegitimize ICE agents performing lawful duties.

You are correct in that part of the reason they are hired is because they are ostensibly indentured servants. They cannot quit because without another job lined up they have to leave the country.
But I don't think we should be correcting that issue to their benefit while Americans are dealing with a horrendous job market and high unemployment rates. And in my experience, it was often other indians abusing the indian foreign workers. These behaviors are incompatible with western society.

It seems like the only circles online discussing abuse of the nonimmigrant system in the US are right wingers.
Why is everyone else not concerned with the obvious ethnic nepotism, often caste based too, among primarily indian nationals? I have watched entire teams and companies get overrun with foreign nationals, while Americans have been laid off.
It is 1000% not a skill issue, the foreign nationals are often worse at the job, but it doesn't matter because realistically most of these companies can coast on their products with a skeleton crew of competent engineers that pickup the slack.
How can we seriously claim that we are facing a shortage of engineers, justifying hiring foreign nationals, when hundreds of thousands have been laid off over the last 5 years?
Obviously this applies to all nonimmigrant visas, and all foreign nationalities, but with indians making up ~80% of H-1B's specifically, they're not even trying to hide it. The trucking industry, something I'm very familiar with, has also been devastated by the same ethnic cartel.
If this post is flagged, I think it's obvious who is upset I am pointing this out. It is not intended to be racist, or inflammatory. This is a serious discussion, of a serious issue.
It's not lost on me that this website is full of indians who will probably take offense. But it's not a good look to defend this and will only amplify contempt for foreign workers.

Well it kind of is. Tesla are not coy about their plans of moving away from selling consumers personal vehicles. If you think cybercab can eat any significant percentage of Uber/Lyfts lunch there is value.
It takes a lot of hubris to throw away ostensibly worldwide EV dominance. And selling Americans on giving up car/independence culture when compared with Europe or Asia will be tough.
They will undoubtedly crush in the robot and energy space though.

I don't know you or give a shit about you. You need to be a man and be accountable for your own life.
How much do you pay as a percentage of your salary in taxes? In total of course.
I pay 30% in taxes for federal and state. House is paid off but taxes is about 3% my salary. My insurance is more than I need (I don't use it at all) and cost me less than 2% of my salary.
You can keep your socialized system, we are doing more than alright here mate. I got plenty of friends in Europe, England, Canada, and Australia all complaining about the same thing, wait times for care. I can see my doctor for basically anything inside of a couple weeks.

AI is barely a blip on why the job market is dead for entry level, and dying all the way up the ladder.
Every one of my engineer friends says the same thing. "My team is 80% indians" and more than half are not qualified for the job they have.
The whole thing is a fucking scam for them, every company, top to bottom. Recruiters, hiring managers, referrals, CEO's. All one thing in common.
I'll take my downvotes, I don't care, everyone here knows I'm right. And those with their head up their ass can enjoy getting replaced and spending years looking for another role.

>60 or 70% of Americans polled*
I certainly don't want it and nobody I know that actually understands the real cost does either. Every single nation that provides socialized healthcare is hopelessly strained by its cost, and the service has suffered as a result. The system relies on eithe dramatic reductions in the cost of healthcare or a positive birthrate to sustain it.
Nobody I know in socialized healthcare systems has good things to say about it when they actually need it.

This is even less than statistically insignificant.
Every single person that doesn't return their cart does so out of laziness. Besides just being an asshole, the cart will take a potential parking spot that someone else later needs to move to free up, and worst of all the wind could blow the cart into someone elses car.
Nobody is gonna kidnap her kids as she walks the cart back in less than a minute. It is simply her being a lazy asshole.
